    Still in the process of figuring that out. I may do the Heatwave in the July. There are a bunch of local weightlifting meets in the fall, so the plan is to choose one or two of those and then do the American Open again in December.

    Clean and Jerk: 145, 150
    notes: Missed 120 twice on snatch before making it. When I made I basically caught it sideways but it was clean... just ugly. Was soft up top on the jerks. Back was feeling shitty overall.

    notes: Back felt pretty good today. Squats felt much better then tuesday. Deadlifts were tentative. I feel very cautious breaking the bar off the floor with heavy weight. Recovery is going very well right now. On vacation next week so after monday I won't be able to update the log until next sunday.

    Getting back into action after vacation. Back is starting to feel much better.

    4/14
    Snatch: 90x2x2, 95x2x2, 100x2x2, 105x2, 110x2 no misses
    Power Clean and Power Jerk: 120x1x3, 125x1x3, 130x1x4, 135x1x2

    Snatches felt great. Clean and Jerks felt heavy and hard. I felt slow.

    4/15
    Squat: 405x5x4@9
    Press: 210x5x3@9-10
    Deadlift: 495x5@10

    Everything felt very hard today, much harder then I had anticipated. Hopefully the difficulty is a consequence of vacation last week. My back is not letting me pull my deadlifts fast yet. Hopefully my strength comes back over the next few weeks. Knees felt real shitty but I used icy hot stuff underneath my knee sleeves and it helped tremendously.

    Good to see you back Nick. I wouldn't worry about things feeling heavy and hard. That always happens to me when I come back from a lay-off or vacation, sometimes even after just a deload week.

    Snatch: 110x1x4 (missed third behind)
    Clean and Power Jerk: 315x1 (just clean) 345x1x4
    Push Press: 185x5, 205x5, 225x5

    Volunteered for Dr. Petreezo's study and was forced to lift 2 repetitions at each top weight using the traditional USAW weightlifting model. It seems I needed an adjustment period because I missed the first snatch I attempted with the bar a foot out in front of me. I am so glad I don't participate in that silly bullshit any more.

    Squat: 455x5
    Push Press: 165x3, 185x3, 205x3, 225x3, 250x3
    Bench: 315x4 (missed 5th), 295x4x2

    Threw the good old head phones back on and got jacked up for 455. Back started bothering me at 185 and used a belt starting at 225. Took 40-50 pound jumps for doubles all the way. More then anything the set was a big confidence booster from a recovery stand point.
