Sometimes I like to tell myself I have a pretty decent press. Then you have to go and have an incredible press.

I have a question to Nike romaleos.
How do you feel using them in the Deadlift comparing Rough shoes?
Romaleos has a higher heel,so i think it's disadvantage due to more distance to lock out from the floor and hard to maintaining mid foot.although your pull is very impressive with that.
I am not sure my logic is right.what do you think?
Thanks man. I prefer the romaleos to the rogue shoes in all my lifiting endeavors. It's true that it does add a tiny bit of distance to my deadlift but it's not something I'm worried about. I disagree that it's harder to maintain mid foot off the floor wearing them. I think it may make breaking the bar from the floor actually slightly easier because of the little extra moment thrown on my knee extensors in the setup. I think it works more like a trade off and I've never missed a deadlift at lock out so for now I think I'm safe. Compared to the rogue, which I also own and lifted with for about a year, the romaleos feel more stable and tight to my foot.

Thanks guys. I feel like I'm on a little streak right now.

    Last week highlights

Paused Bench: 345x2 PR, 350x2 PR... This was my comp PR

Power Clean and Power Jerk: 155x1 F (best clean, just missed jerk), 155x1 (made the lift but jerk had a six inch split so I didn't count it), 155x1 PR power jerk (ok clean but perfect power jerk). I was also very happy with being able to power clean 155 a bunch of times in the same workout.

Finished off the week by deloading squats and deads and started snatching.

    9/3

    9:30am
Snatch: 50x3x2, 70x3, 90x3, 100x3, 110x3... This is starting to feel good real fast

    5:30pm
    Press: 225x1, 242.5x3@8 PR, 250x3@9.5 PR, 235x3@9, 225x3@9
    Squat: 455x1, 495x4@8.5, 475x4@9, 455x4@9

Feeling really good about how training is going right now. Snatch is coming back. Last week I was missing reps at 90 and today tripled 110 with no misses. 495 today was probably the best my squat has felt ever, I definitely could have done 5 and possibly 6. My press feels real good. The last rep at 250 was slow but not a grind.

    9/5

    Power Clean and Jerk: 70x2, 90x2, 110x2, 130x1, 140x1, 145x1
    Bench: 315x1x3

Was still feeling very beat up from tuesdays training and decided to take it easy.

    9/6

    Snatch: 50x3x2, 70x3, 90x3, 105x3, 115x3 PR
    Press: 195x8x3@8
    Squat: 385x8@7, 425x8@8 PR, 405x8@8

Squat snatch is really starting to feel good. No misses again today. Squatting for 8's almost resulted in respiratory failure. It took me at least 5 minutes to catch my breath after each set.

You're lifts are coming on really, strong. This is great to see. I didn't know you had switched back to squat snatching - when did you do that? Shoulder behaving thus far?

Shoulder has been behaving. The cue that actually fixed my shrugging into the bar issue ironically had nothing to do with shrugging into the bar. I noticed if I focused on bouncing out of the bottom of a snatch I automatically shrugged into it and caught the bar in a much tighter position. When I watched lifters bounce I thought that has to be so difficult to catch it so perfectly to immediately stand up. The irony is, for whatever reason, not posing in the bottom has made the lift easier to perform.

    9/7

    Snatch: 50x3x2, 70x3, 90x3, 110x3, 120x3 PR
    Clean and Jerk: 70x3, 110x2, 130x1, 150x1, 160x1F, 160x1
    Deadlift: 520x5@9, 495x5@9

The jump from 90 to 110 on the snatch screwed with my timing. I wasn't catching the bounce today nearly as well as I have been the last few sessions. I'm very happy I was still able to gut out another PR triple though. The clean and the split jerk both felt awkward. I was getting some bar crash on the cleans and my feet were all over the place on the jerk. My first attempt with 160 I had a brain fart on the jerk and did some weird shit. Second attempt crushed it. Deadlifts felt good, I just felt shot. If I hadn't done all that pulling before hand 520 definitely would have been an 8.

Post some video of your squat snatches!

Also, congrats on these PRs. I feel like you heal faster than I..
