    03/24/15 Tuesday

Dull ache is still there in my pec. I'm basically ignoring it and hoping it eventually goes away. It's strange; it's not in the same place as the initial injury. The tear is near the outside of my pec near the shoulder, but this dull ache is closer to the bottom, maybe closer to the middle. It's hard to pinpoint exactly.

    Bench: 45x10x2, 45x25, 100x20, 150x15, 185x15
I'm still feeling no discomfort in the torn area on these, which is great. I might drop to 10s soon and make 10lb jumps.

    Deadlift (in kgs)

    60x5x2
    100x4
    140x2
    180x1
    220x1x2
    220x5

I pulled two singles at 220 before hitting it for a set of 5. Pulled the first single with my belt in my usual spot, which is now a little too tight. Pulled the 2nd with it one hole looser, which felt maybe marginally better, so I kept it there for the set of 5. It still didn't feel great and the 220x5 was harder than I'd like, but I'm happy to pull some decent weight again.

    Seated press: 45x10, 95x10, 135x10x2
I'm not a huge fan of overhead stuff (because I suck at it) but I'm happy to get back to some decent weight on press again.

185 x 15 already? That's really great progress. I think the odd, imprecise pains are par for the course. Keep up the good work, Dan.

Thanks Adam, I'm glad to have you checking in.

    03/25/15 Wednesday

    Bench: 45x10x2, 105x20, 150x15, 190x15
    Sick of 15s.

    03/26/15 Thursday

    Squat:

    45x10x2
    135x10
    225x5
    315x2
    375x2 (belt)
    420x1
    460x1
    485x3 (PR)

That's a single, double, and triple PR. Previous best was 480x1 in the December meet. That's also the heaviest weight I've ever unracked. I felt like I was going to die with every rep but my training partner said they looked pretty good. I seriously thought I wouldn't be able to get the 2nd and 3rd reps after I did the first, lol. Depth felt kind of meh but I'm sure it was close.

    Bench: 45x10x2, 110x15, 160x10, 195x10
I'm done with 15s. The weight is heavy enough that benching every day is starting to suck, too. I think I'll run with 10s until at most 225x10 then start benching 3x/week.

    Machine curls: 70x5, 100x10, 110x10

I recommend listening to this song when going for PRs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFYVcz7h3o0

Congrats on that huge PR. I can't wait to see you smoke 500+ whenever you compete next! It's insane that it's literally a single, double, and triple PR.

    Thanks!

    03/27/15 Friday

    Bench: 45x10x2, 45x25, 115x15, 165x10, 200x10

    03/28/15 Saturday

    Squat: 45x10x2, 135x10, 225x5
I want to squat heavy on Monday so I went really light.

    Bench: 45x10x2, 45x25, 120x15, 165x10, 205x10

I decided I'm going to take today (Sunday) off from benching for the first time in just over 4 weeks. The weight is getting heavy enough that 7x/week is starting to beat me down.

Things are going well. Did a local, unsanctioned meet on Super Bowl Sunday. Hit a 430 squat and 500 dead. It made me decide to start benching again. Nearing the end of a LP run, I hit 255x5x3, and my shoulder still feels ok. I think I will just always have to deal with some discomfort due to arthritis.
