Whoops, I thought I already updated my log over the weekend.

    07/09/15 Thursday

    DL (kgs): 60x10x2, 100x10, 140x5, 160x6 (straps)
160 felt laughably light, but the hamstring started hurting halfway through the planned set of 10 so I cut it off.

    07/11/15 Saturday

    DL (kgs): 60x10x2, 100x10, 140x2, 150x10 (straps)
Hamstring started feeling crappy during the set but whatever. Finished it.

    Seated press: 45x10x2, 95x10, 135x8x2, 135x10

    Hammer curl: 40x5, 40x10x3

    07/13/15 Monday

    Squat: 45x10x2, 135x10, 225x5, 275x10
Doing high rep stuff while my hamstring heals.

    Bench: 45x15x2, 135x10x2, 185x3, 225x10x3
Still not that hard, but my left pec feels like crap. I don't know if it will ever feel good again. There's a lump of presumably scar tissue on it, which isn't great. Maybe I should get a massage at some point.

    07/16/15 Thursday

    DL (kgs): 60x10x2, 100x10, 140x3, 160x10
DOH no straps. Felt pretty good in the injured leg.

    Seated press: 45x10x2, 95x10, 135x3, 155x5x3

    Ab wheel: BWx10x3
Cable curls (one arm): 15x10x10, 30s rest in between sets. Got a sick pump.

    07/18/15 Saturday

    Squat: 45x10x2, 135x10, 225x5, 315x10
That sucked. Gym was incredibly hot and humid, I was sweating like crazy by the time I had 135 on the bar. Belt was somehow too loose. It was moving around at the bottom of each rep. Pretty distracting.
I'll probably start a standard 3x5 progression next week sometime.

    Rear delt flyes: warmup, 130x10x3
Seated row machine thing: 125 on each side x10x3
(Someone had left that weight on and it seemed heavy, so that works)

    07/20/15 Monday

    DL (lbs): 135x10x3, 225x10, 315x2, 365x1, 405x1, 365x10
All DOH grip except the 365x10, where I used straps

    Bench: 45x15x2, 135x10, 185x5
That's it. Felt the pec during the 185, had to shut it down. I need to go find someone to do ART on my pec, because this is ridiculous.

Probably a good idea. No point in being frustrated if the problem is fixable.

I have an ART appointment scheduled for Monday afternoon. Hopefully it's fixable. I have no idea how effective the ART type stuff is.

    07/21/15 Tuesday

    Pretty pointless day today.

    Ab wheel: BWx10x3
    Curls: 40x10x3
    Overhead triceps DBs: 25x10x3
    Seated DB press: 45x10x3

Maybe lay off benching for a while? Do some db bench or something?

I didn't bench for over a year, and got back to the same strength level within a month or so of restarting.

Unfortunately I think my pec is as healed as it'll get without treatment. There's scar tissue built up (I can even feel it myself) that won't go away without some external stimulus.

    07/23/15 Thursday

    Squat: up to 135x10
Hip felt awful because I haven't been squatting enough. Stopped there.

    Seated press: 45x10x2, 95x10, 135x5, 160x5/5/4
Not really feeling it today. Pretty frustrated with all the injury stuff.

Saturday I'd normally lift but I was refereeing a meet all weekend. Both Sat and Sun were 13+ hour days including driving. Sat was about 6am - 7:30pm, Sun was 6am - 10pm.

    07/27/15 Monday

Had an ART appointment before I went to the gym. The therapist used some sort of curved metal tool and slid it around on my pec for about 5 minutes. Things were definitely tender. I was a little disappointed since I'm not convinced a metal tool will work that well. Everything I've read about this, from Rip on here and hearing from other PLers who have had success with this, indicates the therapist needs to dig around with their hands for awhile. Frankly I'm skeptical of the approach used, and I'm looking for another ART person closer to where I live. The PL coach around here thinks I should get it done 2x/week for the next 4 weeks or so, and I can't drive an hour in traffic to someone who I'm skeptical of. If there's someone 10 minutes away, fine. If not I'll suck it up and drive to Denver, but it's difficult.

    Bench: 45x25x2, 135x20x3
The idea is to keep the reps very high while getting regular scar tissue massages to flush blood through the muscle. Pretty similar to what would be done after a new tear.

    DL (lbs): 135x10x3, 225x10, 315x2, 365x1.5, 415x1, 415x5
Dropped the first rep of 365 halfway up since I was using a bar with shitty knurling. Chalked up more and pulled it again. I think I'll stick to 5s for awhile on DL. I'm pretty sick of sets of 10. The 415x5 felt pretty easy.

    Tire flips: 15x4

It's a PITA to get injuries resolved sometimes.
How was the meet this past weekend? similar to the past few years or is the competition getting any better?

Man, it was apparently the biggest state games they've ever had by a long shot. There were something like 120 lifters over the weekend. Saturday, the women's and teen's day, had 45-50 lifters. Sunday had about 70. It was huge! There was a big crowd with standing room only during the squats. I think last year it was really small because raw nationals was held in Denver a week or two before the meet.
