    Peak: Week 1: Bench

    Bench: 265x2, 285x1 (9.5 lb paused-PR), 290x0, 275x2 (Rep PR @ previous paused 1 RM)
    1st Reps Paused on All

    Recovery Circuit: 3 rounds
    Pushups
    Inverted Rows
    Rolling Triceps Extensions
    DB Curls
    Shoulder Lat Raises

I don't like missing reps, especially on the 1st day of a peak phase. But, I don't think I did too badly, especially when I get another chance next week. Trying to not be negative about it.

My form was kind of shit: really slow descent which for me makes me much weaker, random touch points, first move off my chest toward my feet too much.

    10/16

    Peak: Week 1: Deadlift

Deadlift: 470x2, 510x1 (8.5 lb PR), 500x1, 480x1 (PR'd today, but the guy I asked to film it didn't press record. oh gad. The 470x2 was much harder than I was expecting, and I thought I was screwed in terms of not being able to PR)

    Chins: BWX8, (BW+35)x5, (BW+30)x5, (BW+25)x4
    Neck Harness

    Recovery Circuit: 3 Rounds
    DB Russian Swings
    Air Squats
    Plank
    Chinese Arch
    Pallof Press

Dude, 470 x 2 was smoked. You could do a little better job squeezing the slack out of the bar and then ripping the bar off the floor. 500 x 1 moved slow because you were fatigued after 510. No worries.

Ah, I guess I was expecting it to be easy so my experience was colored by that. It does look pretty decent now after the fact.

I will work on pulling slack out/ripping off the floor.

    Peak: Week 1: Squat

    Squat: 380x2 (Rep PR), 410x1 (8 lb PR), 390x1, 380x1

    Recovery Circuit: 3 Rounds
    DB Russian Swing
    Air Squat
    Plank
    Pallof Press

    And the PR's keep coming.

The original plan was to have a 2-week peak, where I would set even higher PR's in the second week. But, that might change given the proximity of my next meet, the American Open in December. Stay tuned.

I knew you were going to PR the hell out of that. Congratulations! Great work this cycle man, you killed it. That rep looked great, very smooth-- you crushed it dude, you have more!

One piece of input if you don't mind-- you are taking too many steps out the rack. It's like you are going for a walk. This may be partly because of the angle squat pins and you need to back up further than you'd want, but it's about twice as many steps as you'd want. Shoot for 2 steps. Watch Mike Tuchscherer on YouTube. He's got the step-out mastered.
