    6/4/14 Last squat intensity before contest taper.

    Squats: 495x2x3, 495x1.

    Then deadlifts, just working on form: up to 405x1, then 495x0. I was trying a narrower stance for the sumo, which I think will work. My legs were pretty tired, though.

    Also, a public service announcement. If you are going to supplement your diet with creatine monohydrate, make damn sure the little crystals are fully dissolved. Warm water helps. Otherwise, your family will hate you, due to your ongoing gastric distress.

    6/5/14 Last intensity day

    Bench: 315x1@7, 385x1@9, 415x1@10, 430 just to test x 0. Was working on letting the weight down a little faster.

    Press: 225x1, 235x2@10, 225x2@10

    Now, a practice meet on Sunday up to first or second attempts, and then a deload until the meet a week from Sunday.

    Log note: I'm feeling a bit beat up. My hands hurt, shoulders are barking a little bit. I'm ready to back off for a while and get back to volume work. The 10 day taper until contest will be good.

    (I leave notes here because I tend to lose my paper logbooks. Can't find it at the moment.)

    6/8/14 Mock Meet, 1397 total, no third attempts.

    Just worked up to second attempts (and first attempt on deadlift).

    Squat 480x1, 518x1.
    Bench: 385x1, 414x1.
    Deadlift: 465x1 sumo.

    Meet in 7 days!

    Note: my singlet appears to have shrunk. I've only gained 5-6lbs, but they are apparently all in my ass and traps.



    Will need to order an emergency singlet. The arch for the bench press was particularly painful.

    Can't wait to see what you bench. I know deadlifts are your nemesis, CRUSH THEM.
