STRONGMAN TRAINING
So it looks like my gym is going to do an unsanctioned event on 4/26 in San Mateo. We know the event sand have started training them specifically. A little sooner than I anticipated, but what the heck? My biggest competition is liekly my training partner Tony.

Warmup

Axle C&P
Up to 100kg (220)
105kg I got the clean but couldn't quite press it out today.
18" Deadlift
light, up to #465 for a triple. Taking it easy, next week we figure out openers. Apparently it's a ladder you can start at any weight that jumps by 20kg per bar. Thinking I'll open mid-500s.
Stone
My very first time. We only lapped it today, goal was sets of 5 but I got 4 3 times. I needed tacky, couldn't get it at all without. #250 stone.
Farmers/Front Carry Medley
Up to #205 per hand for farmers (the contest weight) and about #350 for the front carry.
So I've shamelessly scoured youtube and found what the top guy in my weight class (176-200) is doing:
Axle C&P (contest: max weight, no failed reps or you're done) -I'm guessing he's got 240 cold, maybe 250. I have....220 solid and so far no 230. Hmmm.
Farmers (contest: #215 per hand, 30 yds, zercher carry #335)- Looks like he's quick but I can be pretty fast with this too.
18" Deadlift (contest: Max weight, #45 jumps from wherever you start)- Looks like he has mid 500s. I'm right there.
Truck Pull (contest: ????, 30m no rope)- Who knows? I see he's trained pulling a car, we will do this at least once in the next few weeks.
Atlas Stone Series (contest: 5 stones, 48", 200-320)- Looks like he can probably do all the stones. Used one for the first time todya, a #250. Seemed manageable with tacky.
So I'm coming from behind, but I know where I need to go, should be interesting.

ripped calluses, bruised sternum, bloody legs. Short session today.
PC & Press, Axle Cleans up to 105kg. Partial Deads I had nothing, barely budged 535, which is wrong.
Farmers with fat grips for 100'. Up to 225. When https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAFDA9yqBIcis mumbling obscenities at you, you get your ass moving.
And Hussefelt Stone. 185 and 225. Can;t forget that, it was hard.

#31 3-year old, laughing and wiggling the whole time. Took Active rest on the 20s

Prowler Drag w/harness (Truck Pull)
We started with 4 plates per side and mostly did 3 plates. Not the same as a truck pull, but whatever. This event worries me because I think I have the quickness events down, but I don't know how to do this.

First time ever. 60 seconds.

I could have done more, I was not gassed. I will go balls out in the contest. It will be neat to see how different 320 is.

Need to get under 200 in 12 days. Should be easy. Coach told me 2 workouts, 70% weight and intensity, then a week of more or less nothing.
