Looking forward to DOMS! I thought I kept it really light with super light volume. But again, 8 weeks.

Well, you are, compared to a lot of people. On this board, we're constantly reminded of guys like Jordan and Les, but how many people see guys like this in their gym?

It's good to have stronger people around to keep you humble, but you can still keep your head up, knowing that you're stronger than 90% of the people around you.

Also, way to spread the word.

Thanks Peb, appreciate the kind words!

So, today I...let's pretend I'm a boxer. I did road work.

And I'll be doing it 5-6 days a week for the next 4 weeks, as I stupidly agreed to do a Tough Mudder.

After some research, I see a Tough Mudder is just jogging 10 miles interspersed with being on "Wipeout"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFn7TRomlLE

So, that sucks, but I'm doing it. To that end, I am overqualified on the strength and a terrible runner.

So I run for a month. Today was brief, tomorrow will be slightly longer, and Saturday my partner takes me for a calm 2 hour trail run. Not going to be good, I expect to be ditched in the wilderness.

    Today I did:
    400 steps jog
    100 walk
    x4

    Tomorrow probably 500/120 x4

I don't wear a watch or carry a stupid phone so I just count steps. Last time I did a 5K I had 8 weeks. Hopefully linear progress over 4 weeks gets me to passable shape.

I ran a Tough Mudder a few years ago. It's so over-hyped. It's basically a string of short jogs that end/begin with some ridiculous obstacle, which were more of a mind game than an actual physical challenge. I mean, if you were totally sedentary it would feel epic, but for athletes not so much.

People get crazy into it, so that part is fun.

This. Spartan Beast was much more fun, more physically challenging, and a better run event.

Yeah, bros and soccer moms who crossfit are doing it, I'm not worried. Thanks guys.

But the total of my running, like evr (except one single 5K years ago) is...the last 2 days. Still not worried, I should get a non-stop 6 mile run/jog in 4 weeks no problem. Cardio is easy!

Also, can I stay in the Competitive Lifter category if my competition is a Tough Mudder? Since I rocked a Strongman contest this year I'll give myself a pass, with a stern warning.

    7/10

    1/2 mile walk
    2.4 mile jog
    1/2 mile walk
    6 pullups

    Afternoon Gym Session

    dynamic stretch

    PC/Press
    bar x some
    95 x 5

    OAS
    95 x 2
    115 x 1

    PC/Press
    135 x 3
    155 x 3

    PC/PPx1
    189 x 1
    199 x 1
    209 x 1
    219 x 1
    229 x 0

    Continental Clean/PP
229 x 1 <--that bar needed to go up, so I did what was necessary.

And then I had a Lebron-level calf cramp and was pinned to the floor in agony for 5 minutes. When it subsided, I limped to my car. And got one in the other leg. The calves are tender. Stupid running.
