Yep. Of course, my wife and girls are making fun of me for closing the bedroom door at 9:00 p.m. to go to bed, but getting 9-10 hours sleep a night when home. I've heard rumor that this is good for recovery.

Extra sleep or even naps they all accelerate the rate of recovery.

Walter, your DL volume is really impressive! Great work! For the calluses, have you ever tried one of the waxes, like Badger Balm or Burt's Bees, or something like that? I use the Badger stuff, and it seems to work well, after I sand down the calluses.

Nothing wrong with that! It happens far less than I would like, but I try to aim for 9 hours…and I'm 29.

Lots of deadlift work going on in here!

Thanks guys for the support and suggestions! Another 10 hours of sleep night but feel the volume's effect on my body this morning. I have no idea how all this volume is going to translate into 1RM but trust in Jordan's programming and hope to pull 480+ at next month's comp.

    Tempo SQ - 45x5, 135x5, 225x3, 275x2, 315x1, 365x3, 375x3, 375x3, 345x3
    BP w/2ct pause - 135x5, 185x3, 225x2, 250x3, 260x3, 270x3, 245x3
    BP w/2 boards - 260x3, 270x3, 280x3, 255x3

Still a little beat up from Weds. volume DL session and felt that on SQ's. Feeling good about the volume I'm getting on the BP. Nothing was a grinder today. Took about 95 mins. to get this workout done.

Great work, Walter! I'm slowing down on my bench and am thinking about paused reps now, much as you're doing (but lighter, of course)....may try to add another bench day if I can do four days a week.

Yes, I'm anticipating the additional volume I have been doing will pay dividends next month. The trick is, I think, to make sure not to overdo it and screw yourself up. I'm only do one day a week of "competition" bench and others are supplemental. And, efforts on supplemental are largely at lower weights - RPE's of 7, 8, 9 - and I've been pretty conscious of not overshooting those targets. If anything, there are days I have been a little conservative. As I ramp up intensity next couple of weeks, you'll see the volume drops off dramatically.
