The competitive forum seems to have some good traffic and camaraderie so I figure it's time to join the group.

    I'm 35, 6'2, 228lbs ~28%bf if my scale can be trusted.

In Feb I went to my first competition and had a 420sq, 330 bench, and 510dead, after some injuries I tried again in May and only had a 404sq, 315 bench(blew the rack command on 336) and a 518.5 deadlift.

    I've decided to chase down a 500 squat, 405 bench and a 600 deadlift.

Monday was a good day, except for this nagging head cold.
    Squats: 340x5x5 felt awesome
    Press:170,4,4,3 no gas after squats
    Deadlift: 410x5 felt very good.

Those scales that measure your impedance are just barely better than worthless. You'd know if you were really 28% fat.

    Tuesday:
Bench 290x5x5 : elbow/hand a little sore. must have tweaked something.
    incline db press 75sx2x10
    pull ups 2x10

I'm wiped today. And I get to stack wood tonight!

    Thursday:
    195x1 press (PR)
185x3x3 Cleans ; Backing off on weight here trying to iron out form issues and get more of a jump

    Friday:
    370x5 squat (PR)
325,1,2,2 bench . Hit the uprights on the first set and didn't want to chance a missed rep cause of positioning. Felt good for 3 reps but didn't want to miss one either.
Also biked 2 miles to and 2 miles home from the gym.

Bro day! Just some lateral dumbbell raises and a bunch of Bi and tri work. Just a throw away day to catch a pump.

Your numbers are pretty close to mine although I've been competing for 2 years now and you'll get to 4/5/6 a lot faster than I will. Are you on Texas method for programming?

Texas method /4 day split sort of.
I'm running Squat/Press x5x5 on Mondays, deadlift 1x5 on monday
Tuesday is straight 5x5 bench, and then weighted dips, though i hurt my sternum a couple weeks ago, I'll do dumbell press as ancilary
Thursday is press intensity and cleans
Friday is squat/bench intensity, then RDLs

I also try to add pullups /chin ups on every day, but I've been slacking lately. Saturdays I just chase a pump for bis/tries if I go in.

Nov 16th i'm programming for some PRs, then reset down 10lbs on the squat volume and I think I'll do something like 4-5 weeks, deload/intensity week hit Prs, reset and back on

    How about you?

I started Callador's 4 x 4 program about 5 weeks ago. So far it's been great but I need more time to assess whether it will go very far.

Nice. Found your log. Callador gave me some ideas in the programming thread to help with my bench. Weighted dips seem to help a lot except when I strain my sternum.
