Well...225 was his 1rm. I'm guessing my 1rm is 185ish. Still a long way off though.

I don't know Z's #s...but most elite throwers are quite a bit stronger than me.

Hey John, semi-random question. Did you end up getting this thing?

No. I cancelled my order, in part based on this forum post:

Harder things have been automated. It'll get there.

Since I have one, I guess I'll trailblaze.

That's too bad. In the mean time I am getting really good at assessing my bar speed on video playback.

I'd love to know how it's been working for you. I might not have one of these gadgets, but I've spent quite a bit of time thinking about velocity prescribed loading and and volume schemes...so let me know if you want any ideas.

Yeah. My ancient tendo recently died. No plans to buy a new one.

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind. I expect it'd be a while before I go looking for a program.

The unit itself will take getting used to. So far (one session), it's been far from 100% accurate counting bench reps and, surprisingly, deadlifts. Squats were fine. No idea how accurate rep speed is, but slow reps were slower than fast reps, so that's something. Software is kind of crummy at the moment.

    Programming notes:

    - My 2015 goal was the WA state USAPL deadlift record (300kg @ 98kg). But, I'm moving to Bozeman MT in April & baby 2 is due in Feb. Don't know what MT state records are, but 310kg is my target for 2015...725# before 2018.

    - next 6 months are going to be whacked out. I'm thinking of a "modular" approach, with 3 modules a) hypertrophy, b) strength, c)singles/power. So, I'll autoregulate each lift (RPEs); each session; each microcycle. My perfect microcycle would be ~10 days:
    1: H
    2: H
    3: off
    4: P
    5: off
    6: S
    7: off
    8: P
    9: off
    10: S

    Realistic micro:
    1: H
    2: off
    3: P
    4: off
    5: S
    6&7: off

    Sleepy dad micro:
    1: H
    2,3,4,6,7: off
    5: H

Front Squat, Deads, Press, Push Press, Snatch Grip Deads are the prime lifts for next 6 months. Adding back squats & bench once I feel like my hips, shoulder can hack it.

Was just about to post this!

    RE: 310kg @ 98kg BW

Are you planning to cut weight to get as minimally close in the weight class as you can?
