I'll be at the meet, but not as a lifter this year. Hopefully next year, when I will have grown into the 163's...
Cool, will see you there.
I plan on competing at 220 again this year, despite very inconsistent training throughout the year.
I'll likely barely beat PR's from last year. Good motivation for next year.
10/15/15/15/15:
a.m. bodyweight: 163.8 (WHOO!)
Squat: 350 x 8, 325 x 8 x 2
Press: 145 x 5 x 3, 135 x 5 x 2
Chin-ups: +90 x 3 x 3
I'm already feeling a tiny bit off (fighting a cold or something), but 8's just killed me today.
I'm going to switch the 8's to 6's, 6's to 4's, and 3's to doubles, but hit sets across now. That way I can keep the weight moving up, but take a break from these silly 8's.
10/17/15:
a.m. bodyweight: 164.8*
Light squats: 225 x 8 x 2
Power Cleans: up to 165 x 2. I'm going to stop trying to program these. They can't be helping me with much of anything.
Dips: + 50 x 12,10,10
Bent-over rows: 60# kettlebell: 15 x 2 (per hand)
*This is a near-PR or PR on bodyweight. And I finally need to buy pants. Waists fit fine, but getting my keys and phone and hands in the pockets has become a serious challenge. Measured my thighs with the myotape and they were a hair's breadth short of 23.5" (still sore/inflamed from Thursday, but still a huge improvement over 22"). Can I call that a PR? I'm pretty sure I'm no longer one of the lowest 2 or 3 ranking participants in the TBR challenge.
Congrats my friends
Nice Job Adam. Soon your going to be exclusively buying pants based on quad circumference.
Thanks, Nick. I am indeed shopping for specifically quad-accommodating pants at the moment. Good thing we've had about 40 threads about that very subject here on the boards.
10/19/15:
Felt kinda crappy, some sinus congestion and whatnot, and only weighed 162 lbs, but it was 400 day, and I got my shit together via tons of yelling.
Squat: 400 x 1 x 3 (gym PR). Ugly, but done. Actually got better as I went along. Started out bowling shoes ugly, ended up Gilchrest's backbeard ugly.
Bench: 225 x 1, 245 x 1, 205 x 7 x 3
Deadlift: 435 x 1 x 6 (in 3:56) All hooked. IwanttotypelikethissoIdon'thavetousemythumbs.
