That's why I do it. For Rufus!

Set an a.m. bodyweight PR of 166.0 today. Not even grossly fat (can still see teh abzz if I flex and squint). 170-175 by Christmas. Just gotta get the lifts up to where I can be a legitimate competitor in the 163's. Should have gained this weight a year ago. 20/20 hindsight, plus the always difficult task of being as smart and objective about myself as I am about others. Live and learn.

A bigger motor doesn't slow the car down.

Speed is not a concern anyway. I don't have any.

    10/24/15:

ambw 165.0. Still vera nahce (see Wolf's log for the definition)

Decided to make Saturdays "arms day" since Friday and Sunday jits are probably too much full/lower body work between volume and intensity day as it is. Then immediately violated my decision by doing some power cleans:

    Power cleans: 135 x 3, 155 x 3 (nice reps), 175 x 1 x 2 (uglier reps)
    Bench: 225 x 1, 245 x 1
    Slingshot bench: 265 x 1, 275 x 1
    Bench: 215 x 6 x 3
SB: BB curls, tricep pushdowns, incline dumbbell flyes, L-sit fat rope chin-ups for various stupid rep/set protocols, cadences, drop-sets, and other SB.

How long have you been working in the Sling shot? See any benefit yet?

Haven't done it consistently at all. Gonna try to rotate it in more often now and see where it takes me. I get a ton out of it, probably 40-50 lbs, even though I have the weakest (blue) one. Not sure if it's because it keeps my arms in a better position to produce force, or because I have weak pecs and it's compensating. Probably some of both.

    10/26/15:
    a.m. bodyweight: 163.0

Had a tough day (physically) yesterday, after a ridiculously short night's sleep Saturday night. Was very cautious in my optimism for today's intensity workout:

Squat: 385 x 4, 1 (didn't have a 5th rep today. Had to rack it, run a 60 second clock, and then hit the last rep). I should not be able to do 4 reps 15 lbs below my current 1RM.
    Press: 180 x 1, 160 x 3 x 5 (180 ties all-time PR. Was hard, but not an RPE 10)
Deadlift: 450 x 1 x 6 in 03:26. Only managed 2 of these (#'s 1 and 4) with a hook grip. Hands were beat up from yesterday. It's a hook grip PR though.

Looks like that workout didn't go too poorly at all, considering Sunday's GPP extravaganza.

Yeah, I am glad I decided against pushing it off a day. Might have got all 5 squats @ 385 and hooked a few more of the deadlifts, but 27 out of 28 ain't bad. It's not as good as 9/9 (P.S. Thanks for not making me pull 575 off of you and congrats on your performance yesterday, Wolf)
