    Thanks for the comps.

    Friday 18 July 2014
    9 days out
    TRAC
    Continue training as normal

Today was more of a filler day to maintain frequency I am accustomed to, having hit my comp lift goals for this realization week.

2 ct pause squat no belt no sleeves. Focus was on back position when coming out of the hole slower due to the pause.
    315x3@8
    335x3@8
    325x3@8.5

Pin bench off the chest no belt with mini 12" wrist wraps.
    225x3@7.5
    240x3@8
250x3@8.5 surprising on the easy side and a silly PR. it's nice to have some momentum left at this point
    240x3@8

That wraps up the training week. Some light GPP tomorrow or Sunday. . I cut supplemental bench and supplemental deadlift this week and will go into deep taper for the meet next week.
I actually feel pretty good at this point. I will take it.

You look primed for a VERY good meet. Keep us posted through the taper, how you are feeling, planned openers, etc.

Thanks Walter, I sure hope To have A good meet but I am trying to keep the pressure off myself and just treat it like another pr day.

Here are my attempts I have in mind

Squat 413.4(187.5),435(197.5). This may change upward. . 3 rd attempt based on how attempt 2 feels 245-255 It would be wiser to be conservative. We shall see. I wrote this before this week so second attempt may be 445.

Bench 264(120),275.6(125), third attempt depending on the press calls ( usapl )and performance on # 2, 280-290

Deadlift 463(210), 475-485, 490-500. I am softer on deadlift as a lot depends in performance, fatigue and competition. A pr of closer to or at 500 is desired. But I don't want to overextend and miss either so I will pay close attention to #2.

For dinner I just ate an entire against the grain 3 cheese pizza
    1650 calories
    70 grams protien
    135 grams of carbs
    95 grams of fat

Whew, Plus whatever the pepperoni I added had. Weight is marginal close to making 220 class but I am only going to do the water taper and see, with a 2 hour weigh in I am not going to extremes. Weight class changes to 105 kg in January for all of usapl anyway.

    GPP day, easy does it

Rounds of chin-ups, push-ups and lunges. A short walk( waddle is what it feels like) and a few yoga poses. Just getting some blood circulating.
Lower back, left hip and elbows have been a little stiff. ( back feels better the day after deadlifts)

I will work up to openers on Tuesday and work up to 80% of openers on Thursday.

My general feeling is ok but a little bloated and it is hot out and makes me feel even more slow. My wife is leaving me behind on our walks, I am on the other end of the preparation paradigm at this time. I am eating to pr.

Edit to add, I ordered some blue Rehbands and a larger singlet on Friday. Nothing like new extra tight sleeves.

Are you lifting on Sunday? I'll be part of the platform crew that day, I'll try to say hi when we get a break.

    Tuesday 22 July 2014
Hot as hell in the garage 92
    TRAC
Continue training as normal ( high stress due to a bad nights sleep due to a sick dog. )

Squat ( competition belt and sleeves on last set)45x5,135x5,185x3, 225x2,275x1,365x1
    415x1@8. Nice
Warmup to opener in 20 minutes

    Bench 45x10,135x5,185x2, 215x1,235x1
265x1@8. Bridge a little due to not getting knees low repeat to practice
    265x1@8 nice
Warmup to opener in 16 minutes

AT&T his point the heat was causing a bit of cramping.

    Deadlift conventional 225x2,315x1,405x1,
    465x1@8
    Took about 14 minutes.

Now if I can get some decent sleep
