Patience is a virtue that is easy to forget. Good plan.

    Pause squat
    335x5x3@7.5-8.5
    Good reps.

    2ct pause bench
    225x5@7.5

Good to hear. Do you ice it? I need to force myself to use ice more.

I ice it nightly. I need to bring a gel pack to work so I can get an ice session in during the day.

Oh' bummer. I'm having a flashback. Hope you can bring the inflammation down. Try an ice massage too. Take a Dixie cup and fill it with water. Remove the ice from the cup once it's frozen and massage it into the AC joint area. Hurts like hell but works.

Yes it was easy but if it is easy for 5 or 6 sets again it will get bumped up. I am using the 8s as a volume driver, if I move the weight up prematurely I am afraid my volume will drop as I will get less sets at the intensities and fatigue percents I am targeting.
When I move to a different block where I will allow my intensities to climb I will be more aggressive with the weight. Right now I am patientLy adding volume through more sets and conservative bumps in weight. The block could end anytime, however but I will come back to wherever I left off on work weights when I come back to this block classification.
Makes total sense, Bryan. I think I often rush to raise the weight. I'm getting better at the weight selection, though. If I work the volume, intensity will come.

    Thursday 1-22-15
TRAC continue ue training as normal( stress and fatigue is high)

    Squat with belt.
    405x3@8
    405x3@8.5
    405x3@9
More relative effort, fatigue is passing my recovery etc..meh feeling where gains happen. More work sets were done early in training week than last so overall squat volume is increasing despite this lackluster squat session.

Bench comp pause just wrist wraps.
240x3@7.5 (comp grip ring finger on ring.. Pain...
    240x3@8. 23" grip tucked elbows...aw a work around.
    240x3@8.5 23" grip.

I may stick with a narrower bench grip for a while. And become a ng bench specialist. Better than not training it.

I would not say that multiple sets with 4 plates is lackluster. But then I am just a little semi-weak guy. As for benching lots of guys bench narrow successfully. Oldster from on here comes to mind, as does Konstantinovs. Maybe having a closer grip is not "optimal" but it sure as hell beats not training it, as you pointed out yourself.

This has worked out pretty well for me over the past few months. I switched to a closer grip (pinkies about 1" inside the 81cm rings) to take some strain off my injured pec. I ended up getting just as strong if not stronger with the closer grip, equaling my meet PR bench of 308 with a little room to spare.

You can always switch back once things are healed up. Over the past 4-5 weeks I've switched back to what was my normal grip, middle finger on the rings, and I just hit my first bench PR in awhile.
