Hey Bryan, it was nice meeting you today. Sorry for all the reds on bench! If it helps, from what I remember, on your 1st bench your butt was definitely an inch or so off the bench for most of the drive up. I don't have the 2nd in my memory but I remember on the 3rd when the bar speed slowed your butt popped off the bench then back on twice, which is why I threw the red. It wasn't off as much or for as long as the 1st bench but it did jerk up off the bench twice. I didn't want to give a red I swear!
I saw some guy filming with a tripod during parts of the meet, maybe some of your lifts were captured.

No worries friend. That's good judging. I wish I had such an eye around during training. On my home bench ( rogue) I can get in a position to keep this from happening even when I am straining. Apparently I forgot how, or I got into a bad habit and didn't catch it, or minor differences in dimensions of the bench or the carpet floor..it doesn't matter I will get this corrected.
Fortunately the other side judge missed it. That third attempt was purposefully loose.

Congrats on the meet PRs! I think the most important part to keep the ass from shooting up on the bench is just to find the right setup, especially foot positioning is a big deal for myself regarding that issue.

Congratulations, Bryan, on the great lifts and meet PRs! No doubt you'll figure out the bench and its technical issues. Great work, man!

Just saw a really good article on butt lift on powerlifting watch and thought it may be of use.

TRAC says its time to train.
New block some develomental and start work on fixing my bench
TEMPO squats 45x5,135x5,185x3,225x1
245x7@7
265x7@8
285x7@9 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qotv...ature=youtu.be
These felt like conditioning.
2ct Pause bench 45x10, 135x6
175x6@7
195x6@8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTWG...ature=youtu.be posted this set to show I do have a training partner.
205x6@8
215x6@9 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdLX...ature=youtu.be
Worked hard on getting legs, glutes and lower back all tight so I could not lift my but. This will take alot of reps to develop into a better habit. I am watching my feet and for glute bridge closely for this training evolution. This position hold is harder physically than moving the weight.
Power clean
135x3,155x3,175x3
Going to be building these up for additional light pulling volume. I want to add 10 pounds to my deadlift to break 500 in October.

Nice training partner. I don't know how you do it alone. Some days I really need someone yelling at me to push me when I just want to give up. Also, late to the party on congratulations. Great squat and you'll conquer the bench set up for next time. It's been my nemesis so I can relate that it must have been frustrating.
