Comp. Squat: 240x4 @7, 255x4 @8, 265x3 @ 10. Missed last rep on top set due to inadvertently pause squatting my second rep.

    2-ct paused bench: 125x4 @7, 135x4 @8, 140x4 @8.5, 135x4 (fatigue). Felt so much better than last week!

Flat back DL in oly's: 245x4 @7, 265x4 @8, 280x3 @10. Missed the last rep on my top set..back was rounded and I was headed toward a hitch. My back is fried. It got used to a slower pace when I was training for the weightlifting meet. Anyway, I'll take those 3 reps at 280--beltless and with a sore back!

Intervals on rowing machine. 0:20 on, 1:40 off x7. Pace range of 1:36 to 1:42. Average--1:38/500m. This was my first time doing "cardio" in a WHIIIIIIILE!! I've got a diagnostic APFT coming up, so I need to get back to raising my HR over 80 from time to time (NOT just by climbing a few flights of stairs in the hospital!).

    Comp. Bench: 135x4 @7, 150x4 @8, 155x4 @9, 145x4 (fatigue)

Front Squat: 185x5 @7, 200x5 @8, 210x3...I'm struggling with piriformis syndrome currently. Dat sciatic nerve impingement, doh! Also, I felt like I could have used more food today. Felt under-fueled.

Towel Bench: 135x5 @6.5, 155x5 @8, 165x5 @9, 155x5 (fatigue). This was my first time doing this lift. I loved it!! I used a yoga block and it worked perfectly.

I hate al of those feelings.

    Nice bench work!

Thanks! I'm excited to really see my bench take off during this training cycle. Hoping to creep into the 200s by the end of this year!!

    Comp. DL: 265x4 @7, 300x4 @8, 315x4 @9, 285x4 (fatigue, not quite a 9). No piriformis issues, thankfully!

    TnG Bench: 140x5 @7, 155x5 @8, 165x5 @9, 155x5 (fatigue). Feeling pretty amazing!

I will finish the last part of this training session (tempo squats) tomorrow. Had to cut it short today in order to make it to grandpa's for an early Father's Day lunch.

BW 137 (I don't even know why I'm listing this here. Anyone that knows me knows that my weight does not budge...regardless of over-feeding, under-feeding, work, rest, recovery, water, etc.)

Tempo Squat 3-0-3: 135x5, 175x5 @7, 185x5 @8, 195x5 @9. This was my first time doing these. They were tough! I was also working with a cumulative "beat up" feeling from this past week.

Push ups: 45 in 2 minutes. Decided to see where I am with this part of the APFT I will be doing within the next month. Not bad. When I was training these back in my ROTC days, I would get between 47 and 54. I haven't trained "muscular endurance" in about two years now and I almost matched what I was doing back then. Pays to be strong

I have been out for a week! Last Monday I returned to the General Surgery service and didn't leave the hospital until 7pm. The next day was no different. Then Wednesday morning I woke up with torticollis (wryneck). I didn't go to work for two day, saw my PCP and took some meds. It's been a less than pleasant 4-5 days. Today I was finally able to demonstrate full range of motion with only a touch of pain at the left extreme. Decided it was time to get back in the gym.

    Comp. Squat: 225x4 @6.5, 245x4 @8, 255x4 @9

    2-ct Paused Bench: 135x4 @ 7, 150x4 @8.5, 160x2 (too bold! I should've held back to get a complete set @155. Oh well.)

    2-ct Paused Deadlift: 225x4 @6, 250x4 @8, 265x4 @9

I'm one week out from taking my journey down to hot, humid San Antonio for my first "away" clinical rotation. I understand I will be taking a diagnostic APFT at that time. Should be interesting. Hoping my traps, SCMs and piriformis all behave!

Getting unnecessarily nervous about my upcoming diagnostic APFT next week. So I got home from work today and did a mini-diagnostic out back.

    2-min max push ups: 47
    2-min max sit ups: 87
    1 mile run: 7:30 (ish)

My muscles are angry with me.
