What's next on the meet schedule for you?
It's Worlds in Texas!!!! 12 weeks out, and I am excited about it. I'm just training hard, trying to not get hurt, and staying close to comp weight.
I am taking off to London and Paris this weekend for two weeks of work. I am tad nervous about getting my training in, but I am going to just roll with it. And enjoy Europe!
3/29/16
Day 2
Deadlift
341x1 @8

DB Bench Press

50x8x5
Chins and Ab wheel x10 min
Row intervals 24 min total
Tough session for a number of reasons, pretty rushed, stressed, feel awful due to allergies, blah, blah, blah. I was struggling to write down a positive about the session. Then I realized that this is progress-pulling 155 when I don't feel fantastic. This makes me happy.
3/30/16
Day 3 (skipped my usual rest day here and I felt it)
Squat w/o belt
220x8
231x8
242x8x5 got higher than @8
DB Press
25x8
30x8
35x8x5
The thing about DB work-every week, I think "will I be able to go up a DB?!? I hope so!" And most of the time it's a big fat no. 50# DB bench and 35# DB press #4lyfe
Inverted Tempo Rows (no rings today)
x11
x11 (with my body more horizontal)
x11x4 (even more horizontal)
Significantly easier than rings, so I had to adjust for that. My armzZz!!
This latest block is good-challenging and lots of volume forcing me to be very mindful of my technique. But it has also been very rough-a lot of volume and a lot of supplemental/GPP stuff that I am NOT good at or basically barely able to do. This provides a challenge, but it's also easy to get discouraged because some stuff is just really hard and frustrating. I am pretty sure that's good for me though. :-)
4/2/16
Day 1
Done early due to travel
Squat
308x1@ 8 (was supposed to be 7.5 but I almost paused it, not surprisingly that makes it harder.)
286x4 @8
297x4 @9
280x4x3 fatigue
Bench
172x1 @8
150x4 @8
154x4 @9
148x4x3 fatigue
And now I get to board a long flight. My legs should feel great! :-)
Wow, that sounds like a pretty damn exciting couple of months. I completely forgot that worlds was in Texas this year.
I am definitely looking forward to the months ahead. Worlds in TX is a boring travel destination but it's fantastic as far as ease of travel, costs, and home town fans!
4/3/16
