Thanks! I forgot that this was a DL rep PR too. I am happy with that!

Dev block week 4, day 1

Squat, apparently done while brain dead..
did 275x2 and it was way tougher than I expected, plus my hip flexors (I guess...) were kind of not happy
tried 275 again, 2 reps, racked it sooooo pissed that it was not right
Discovered I actually had a mis loaded bar...un-balanced and at 280.5 total. Oops!

    280x4 @9

    Bench
    136.5x4 @8

    140x4 @9

    2 ct. bench

    127.5x4
    132x4
    127.5x4x2

    Chins- managed 6, 6, 5, 4, 3

And I'm going to say it here, even though I've probably said it before-I am going to stop being a bench baby. I need to work much harder at this lift.

    Glad someone is!
Did you have someone spot you while using the slingshot? I found it's really awkward to unrack with it on. Also, I think you need to go heavy to get anything out of it and again need a spotter in order to save you if something goes sideways.

    Squat is really moving...Congrats

    Melody,
I think I'm actually just really, really uncoordinated. I did train with a WLer before I blew out my shoulder, but I wasn't really that good then either, but I was a little better. They frustrate me immensely.

The slingshot is fun, but I agree with Lakshmi that a spotter is helpful. I have been working on un-racking without a handoff, though, in preparation for doing some benching in my basement. (Hey, Lakshmi! How's the recovery going?)

Thanks, guys! I've been thinking about you and your recovery, Lakshmi! Hope you are being a perfect patient. :-)

It did need more weight, I agree. It felt better once I added a bit more, but I didn't have a spotter, and I was a bit nervous. I can see that having help unracking with the SS on would be a really good idea. Jordan also told me to make sure I keep my elbows tucked.

One of the cool things about the slingshot is that it will, in my experience, actually help you keep your elbows tucked and this will transfer over to the bench without the slingshot. You muscle memory (or at least mine) sort of remembers where the elbows go on the descent and where they go on the press.

Hi David! You're back and thanks! Training has been pretty steady.

Ed, thanks for the feedback on the slingshot. I'm excited to figure it out!
