A friend of mine cuts 4-5 lbs by sucking on jolly ranchers and spitting in a cup for a day. It is the foulest thing ever. She is an adorable bikini competitor girl too. Works for her though.
72 for good? Are you judging on saturday?

Seriously, you guys -thank you! You are providing lots of great perspective, and I am incredibly grateful!

I am judging this weekend at the Oakland SS Fall Classic, and I can't wait you to see some of you, and I'll be keeping up with how the rest of you do.

Melody, I am going to be a 72 for at least awhile. That's my new National qualifying class, so that's what I'm going to train at (well, the plan is closer to 70kg for now). :-)

Last week was just recovering and doing non-interesting low stress work. New block this week.

    10/26/15
I think this block is deceptively named "restoration".

    Comp Squat
    255x5 @7
255 AMRAP: 10 reps, then the dog got right in my face and I freaked out. I don't really think I had another rep in my anyway. I really wanted to stop at 9, but I was determined to get 10.

    Bench
    128x5 @7
    128 ARMAP: 8
Quite disappointed in this, as my bench ability didn't feel that great to start and then tanked super fast.

    DB Press
    15x12 @6
    17.5x12 @7
    20x12x4 @8

Hurrah for cardio lifting. :-) But I am ready for the change and challenge for a little while, and I am eating all the food right now.

FWIW I can always seem to squat 1 more rep when it's light, but bench is a different story. I think I'll have 2-3 left and next thing you know the bar is glued to my chest.

Thanks, Craig! This bench volume is tough!!

    10/26/15
    Deadlift
    275x5 @7
    275x10 @9.9

CG bench (was supposed to be CG incline bench but my gym got rid of that bench)
    88x12 @6
    100x12 @7
    106x12 x4 @8, last set was not an 8

    Walking lunges
    110x12 each leg @7 (overshot my @6)
115x12x4 @8-9 holy smokes, that got tough!
100x12 @ whatever to make up for missing that 6 previously

This block is going to be stupid fun and crazy hard. Talk about a battle of the mind to keep going. I haven't done this many reps of one thing in a loooooong time.

    10/29/15
    Day 3

    Front Squats
    105x12 @6
    115x12 @7
    135x12x4 @8ish

We all know Dante reserved a special place for anyone who programs 6 sets of 12 front squats.

    Power Clean
did them, but they were awful

    Weighted push ups
    10x12
    15x12
    25x12x4

This program is kicking my butt. 12 reps = cardio=taxing work.

And far more interesting than complaining is that I am still reeling from my invitation and acceptance for the Masters Raw National Team. I'm going to........Texas. :-)

Congrats! I've been thinking about going to Killeen next year to watch. Guess now I have some extra motivation to make that trip happen.
