    8/29/17

    Day 2

    Deadlift
    345x1 @8
    275x5 x 4 sets
    253x5 x 4 sets
trying oh so hard to NOT lean back when I start the pull. I'm getting better, but this was not a simple training session here. So many reps pulled incorrectly, but some done better than before.

    Bench with chains
    208 (factoring in the chain weight) x 1 @8
    then back off sets 4 @9 x 3 sets

    SSB
    185x7 x 4 sets

    That's a lot of deadlifts.

I had a few training session in TX, one last Friday at Heavy Metal Gym in San Antonio.

Then 9/4/17 Monday at the Baraki House of GainzZz

    Squat
    335x1 @8 felt really good
    280x4 x 6 sets

    Bench
    180x1
    190x1 yesssss
    165x4 x 6 sets

    Floor Press
    125x7 x 3 sets

9/5/17 Day 2 at the Baraki House of GainzZz

    Deadlift
345x1 @8, better than last week!
285x4 x6 sets Really fighting my tendency to rock back to star the pull. I need to stay over that bar!

    TnG Bench
    180x1 @8
    165x 4x 3 sets

    SSB
185x7x3 sets, done with very little rest so I could rush to my flight. Then to find out than I wasn't going to make it out of the airport due to delays anyway. But I got to sleep in a bed, not an airport, so all was well.

I of course, had a great time training with Austin, Loraine, Jordan, and Alan.

    9/12/17
    Day 2

    Deadlift
330x1 @8 (It was a very good DL for me, but man, I was pissed that it was an 8. I really wanted to go to 160x1 today)
275x 5 x 6 sets still cleaning up my start position, and I am ow confident I'm making some repeatable improvements.

TnG bench (and as I type this I am pretty sure it was supposed to be 2 ct paused. Shoot)
    181x1 @8
    `160x4 x # sets

Some extra squat and bench work.

    9/18/17
    Day 1

    Squat
    321x1 @8
    343x1 @9
286x4 x 6 sets that volume.... I can probably claim this as a volume PR.

    Bench
    182x1 @8 or 8.5
187 miss Then I kind of fell apart a bit. The drive to improve battling with the reality of slow progress that just takes lots of exact work can be crushing before a meet.
156x4 x 5 sets I thought I wasn't going to be able to do even the first set, but Jordan wouldn't let me give up. So I had to do it, and I did. Funny how that works sometimes. :-)

    CG floor press
    140x8 x 2
    135x6

Super, super tired and spent-combo of some missing hours of sleep, the stress of the misses, and my response. Not going to lie, I know I made the session harder than it needed to be. But all in all, objectively I have to categorize it as a good training day

It's good that you can do that. That's a skill a lot of people don't have.

Understandably a missed rep is disappointing, however, a maximal effort rep can be extremely stimulative. Ironically, the difference between missing a rep because you don't try very hard, and missing because you're redlined at 10, is the difference between the worst possible training and the best. Obviously you can't train at a 10 all the time, but great athletes/coaches (you) know all this. Congratulations on your highly productive training!

Thanks, guys! It has been a solid training block and I continue to learn a lot.
