The increased squatting frequency is finally starting to pay off. I hit 515 and 525 easily on Tuesday. With my ability to grind I'd say I left 10-15lbs in the tank. I wish I had loaded the bar to 530 instead. But 525lbs is still a 10lbs PR. Now I just need to focus on increasing the quality of the lifts at his weight, because they were a little high. I had never wrapped the wraps this tight before and the stopping power kind of amazed me. I actually bruised hamstring tendon on the back of my right thigh lol.

Default 505 fo a warm up!

Easiest 505lbs squat of my life tonight. Based on my grindability (I'm copyrighting this word), I would guesstimate that I left about 20-30lbs in the tank. Kaboom.

Default First PL Comp: 1300 raw total @ 148

Well, I fell short of my goal of 1400. I had wanted to go 550/300/550, but I ended up with 525/275/500. I had a shot at 550 on my 3rd deadlift attempt, which would have given me 1350, but the injury I've been fighting through and the fact that I was so out of practice on the movement just made it so I couldn't finish the lift. For reference, my best triple is 550.

I'm pretty happy with my squat, which I believe is something like #8 on the all time list, but I know I've got a lot more in me. My next goal is to hit 550 and then beat Rickey Dale Crain's 565 squat from the 70's.

For now though, my main focus will be the bench while I let my glute heal up, and then when I'm healthy I will finally pull 600. Next time I compete, probably sometime in mid to late 2015, I will total 1400. There's a lot more there for me. But overall I really enjoyed my first competition and I'm pretty happy with how things turned out.

I commented on your Reddit thread, but I'll say it here too. Your ability to grind reps is awesome and I'm hoping to develop that skill myself. Really really awesome work.

Good lord, I would have been spent for the rest of the day after that grind on your second squat. Congrats on the total man.

Thanks man. I think the ability to grind is really all about practice and bullheadedness.

Hahah thanks man. It was tough to come back for that 3rd attempt. Mostly it was mental though. I just had to tell myself that I wasn't going to not stand back up.

Think I saw some crazy eyes on that 3rd squat. Nice job.
