Might just be the angle, but your tilt doesn't look too bad.

    Eat indulgently.
    Thanks!

The 8's were tough mostly from a cardio standpoint and wishing each set was 5 reps or less. 6's weren't bad tonight, just pretty sore. Friday should be good. Both squat and bench weights are 20-30lbs less than previous 5x5 weights, but with more overall weekly volume.

Agreed re: tilt. The bar felt pretty good on my back tonight. It was just my legs that were so sore.

I'm around 6'1... So, at my current body weight, I'm pretty "undermuscled".

The next USAPL meet in Ohio is the Battle of the Great Lakes in Copley, near Akron. It's Saturday April 18th.

Thanks Vince. April is a bad time of the year for me (accountant) so unfortunately that's a little close to tax day for my liking. However, a meet in the November timeframe really has me interested.

The meet I did was in Dayton, which is about a 2 hour drive from Indy. There was one scheduled in Ft Wayne, IN which is about as far away, but my dad lives near there. I ended up getting a hotel the night before for the Ohio meet.

My goals coming out of the meet were to immediately add as much as I could to my total, and I thought with a coach and optimal programming, I would be able to see some really good progress. Unfortunately, I kind of feel like I spun my wheels for 8 weeks.

My primary (and immediate goal) is to get my #'s trending back upwards, mainly my squat. I've never really trained my deadlift much, except for low volume, low frequency. Squatting seems to just help it move along on its own. Bench doesn't really get affected by much, so I just need to keep adding weight and I think I should be good.

My short term goals would be 365 squat (2x bodyweight, 40lb meet PR), 245-255 bench (25-35lb meet PR, but I'd take touch and go for either making it a 10-20lb PR), and a 500lb deadlift (40lb meet PR, and 35lb overall PR). I think they are all attainable with some smart programming and hard work.

Akron might be a little far for a meet for me, and April would probably be a little sooner than I'd be ready for. But, I'd like to increase my total at this weight, and then possibly move up and see where I can go.
