Do you have a xfit couch or are you programming yourself?
Background:
Stats: 30 year old male, 5'10, 205lbs
Lifts: SQ: 640 (wrapped), 591 (sleeves), BP 430, DL 725, Press-264
Clean- Unknown, Snatch- Unknown, Fran- Unknown and unknowable
CrossFit History:
Used to do "CrossFit" in a commercial gym with friends. Form was likely laughable, workouts were cherrypicked, etc. I have no bench marks and am basically starting from scratch. My goal is to train CrossFit exclusively until the 2016 open and see if I am even remotely competitive for going to regionals (perhaps 2017?). Follow along for lots of laughs, rhabdo, and general tomfoolery.
Goals are to lose 10lbs, improve Olympic lifts/CrossFit skills/conditioning, and tackle the open.
10-18-15
Session 1:
Run 25 min @ RPE 6 w/ HR 120-130. Distance traveled 2.1 miles. Running with that low of HR is hard so there was some walking.
Session 2:
Warm up: EMOM x 12 minutes alternating 10 double unders, 10 wall balls (20# to 10' target). Double unders improved markedly towards end of warm up
"Close Grip" OHS: 70kg x 5 x 4 (RPE 5 or so. Grip was 3rd finger on Olympic Ring)
Snatch from Hip: 60kg x 3 x 4 (not heavy, just trying to drill technique)
60s handstand hold w. face to wall. Nose and toes only thing touching wall. Done continuous. Not hard, but I need to learn how to "roll" out of this position.
6 min strict ring muscle ups- 3 reps. Having problems with a transition that doesn't hurt my wrists. Need to practice.
50 hollow rocks done as 10 x 5 sets
3 rounds of:
20 step ups to 20" box w/ 45# db's in each hand
20 KB swings (24kg)
15 toes to bar
Time: 11:30 (first round @ 1:59)
Grip was smoked for the step ups at start of round 2. This is going to be difficult.
Turns out, I'm not a regionals level athlete after 1 workout.

I was like, really sad when you retired your log.
My heart lept with joy when I saw this at the top of the screen.
Also, I was under the impression that once you were strong enough, a few weeks of skill work and conditioning and you'd be on the podium at the games. We shall see.
Great job this weekend, always a pleasure.

Thank you for starting this log, I am really excited for it. I too was sad when you stopped your last log, especially since I started reading it very late but now I'm seeing the beginning of another journey! Good luck with CrossFit and thanks for sharing! Also, it feels weird seeing your first 2 workouts doing non-strength work (step-ups and kettlebells?!)
Ha! My log has more views than yours!
Good luck in the new endeavor.
