    Thanks Chris!

Did some heavy punching bag work with my Aqua Bag. 2 minutes on, 2 off for 5 or six rounds. Good core work that I can feel in my midsection. Trying to lose a little extra weight I don't need...

Bench - 275-4,4,4,4,4 - Took a push up wide grip on the bar. My left shoulder pinched me a bit the first two sets on the last rep. Widened my grip with pinkies on the rings and pinching went away. Last rep each set was a competition 2 second pause.
    Bench OL - 405 - 1,1,1

Light Squat - 365-2,2,2,2,2 - went for speed coming out of the hole to push it up as fast as possible.

    Press - 205-3,3,3,3,2,3 - All done strict.

Deadlift - 435-4,4,4,4,4 - Last set was tough

Chins with 25lbs - 3,4,5, - should have warmed up but just started with 25 and didn't push too hard

Went out for dinner for Chinese New Year last night. Great restaurant. However, feel a cold coming on now- sore throat, headache...

Bench - 255-2,2,2,2,2 - Light bench day. worked on accelerating the bar from a dead stop on the bottom.
Bench - 315-1,1 - Did a couple of heavy paused singles as I want to keep intensity high even though this was a (very) light bench day.

Squats - 390-3,3,4,3,3,4, - Program called for 5 sets of 4 reps. Felt weak once I got the full weight on. 1st couple of sets even 3 reps felt difficult. Managed to get 4 reps a couple of times. Program called for 20 reps and I did one extra set to get the full 20.

Squat Overloads - 560-1,1,1 - Did a couple of static holds...

Workout took over 2.5 hours as I really needed recovery between the squat sets...

Yo Skid! I saw your comment about using a Doug Hepburn program in the bench thread upstairs. That is how I've trained for a while, and it works well for me.

You have some great lifting going on. Keep pushing ahead!

    Thanks Chebass,

I may look at the Hepburn program next as it seems like a good long term program. Right now I'm doing the Dr. Squat 80 day program. So many options...

Caught a nasty cold/flu Monday. Had the night chills/sweats, sore raspy throat, lungs full of crap to cough up, etc. Took Tuesday and today off of work. Decided to try to work out and was surprised that I still had some strength. Did the absolute minimum though...

Press - 185-1, 205-1, 215-1, 225-1, 190-3,3,3 - Presses aren't part of the program but I figured deadlift day is a good day to do them. The 190 presses should have been for fives, but I didn't want to push things...

Deadlift - 410-5,5,5,5,5 - This is the light deadlift day. Felt light too. Breathing a bit hard after the sets made me cough a bit but otherwise I'm ok.

I bought a glute ham raise machine on the weekend. Did a few easy raises but will get into this more when I feel better.

I like to do press work on the heavy deadlift day since the following bench workout is the easy doubles. There is Less fatigue as the weights go up on the heavier bench session which I like to go into fresher.

Bryan, I find that I can press and bench quite frequently as my body seems to recover quickly from upper body training. My lower body is the opposite...

Should have done this day's training yesterday, but I had a long day at work and am still feeling crappy from the flu. I've pretty much lost my voice too after going through a plant engineering inspection and spending the afternoon answering questions from the auditors.

Bench - 275-5,5,5,5,5, - No issues with this. Shoulders were happy.
    Bench OL - 405 - 1,1,1 - Did a few static holds for 8-10 seconds.

Squat - 370-2,2,2,2,2, - These felt good as well and lighter than they should have felt considering how ill I still am. Went for bar speed out of the hole all the way to the top. Rested just 2-3 minutes between sets. Did the first two sets with no belt, but donned the belt as I found I was tighter and could explode up faster.

Didn't do any other accessory stuff except to bent over row what my wife was deadlifting for a couple sets of 8

Have Laryngitus - Wife and kids are happy as all I can do is whisper.

Press - 205-4, 210-3,3,3,2 - Press went good today. 205 seemed easy for 3 so did 4. Added 5 pounds more pounds for the rest.

Kettle bell swings - 56kg/123lb - 8,8, - Tried out my new kettle bells. 8 swings seemed like a good stopping point and warm up for dead lifts. Will build on this...

Deadlift - 440-5,5,5,5,5, - Did both (light tap) touch and go's and dead stops. Dead stops seemed easier. Weight didn't seem too heavy considering I am still ill.

Workout lasted 1.5 hours. May go back tonight after dinner for chins and glute ham raises.
