Meant to get out yesterday for some cardio, but spent most of the afternoon fixing my kid's dirt bike. A while back he let a friend ride it and he crashed badly into our steel gate. Didn't hurt himself too much, but damaged the bike pretty good but still rideable. Replaced forks, handlebars, throttle and levers, put new knobbies on front and back, changed oil, cleaned air filter, tightened/lubed chain, etc. Good to go now, except I pinched a tube when I put the front tire on the rim.

Also, very close to putting a down payment on a BMW S1000XR Maybe tomorrow...

The BMW sounds like fun, skid! Hope you get it and have a ball. My wife and I rode Suzuki's and Harley's for years. There is a good chance I'm going to look at a new(er) pickup tomorrow, too!

Surprisingly my wife is supportive of me getting it, despite not liking motorcycles that much (shouldn't have wheelied with her on the back, and we rented a Harley in Hawaii and cruised around helmetless and her long hair got hopelessly tangled). She says you're not getting any younger so go have some fun. The XR is a highly rated sport touring bike and the one I'm looking at is last year's model so there are extra factory incentives (despite not changing anything for 2018) for purchasing.

Always fun looking at trucks too Oldster! Since I was 15 years old I've always had at least 1 truck. I used to be a die hard Chevy guy (fave was a high option '72 with factory big block), but went totally to the dark side with my last few trucks. Drove a company Tundra, have a Tacoma, used to have a Dodge Cummins, and my latest is a Ford Diesel.

Very cool. My wife absolutely loves to ride, although we haven't in years. Back in those days, we rode our bike everywhere and put on a couple hundred thousand miles touring across the west.

I used to be a Chevy guy, too. Always have owned a truck. Just can't live without one in our part of the country and with our lifestyle. Years ago i changed to Nissan and have never looked back. Today I traded in my 2012 Nissan Titan with 75,000 miles, for a 2013 Nissan Titan with, believe it or not, 2350 miles! Looks like new, smells like new, and definitely drives like new!

I didn't tell my wife I was looking at a new truck. Went up to look at it while she was at work. Then I called on the way home and said, "get ready for a surprise!" She loves it and after I explained the deal I made, loves it even more.

    Squat rep was like butta!

Sometime when you get a chance, skid, I've love to see you SSB squat to get a flavor of others. I've seen a few sets here on SS and a couple on youtube. But it would be nice to compare some to someone I've watched straight-bar squat. No hurry, just someday when you feel like doing a medium-heavy rep or two.

Oh, my wife started lifting again today. Not sure if it will last long, but it was her first time with the SSB. She's not sure of it yet, she's like a cat and hates to change anything. Back in her day she was really something for as little time as she spent in the gym, squatting 50lbs over BW (185 total) for 20 reps. About twenty years off did nothing to help her muscle mass (ahem) or strength.

    Warm up - 500M row

    Deadlift
    215kg-1@8
    185kg-6,6,6, @ 7.5ish

    Pause Squat
    157.5-3,3,3,@ 8.5

    SSB Squat just for Oldster!
175kg-1@ 8ish - The weight kind of took me by surprise. The only bad thing about my 25kg plates is that the weight goes up rapidly vs normal 45's, as each pair of plates adds 110 pounds. Went a little too low as well...

    DB Rows
    110-10,10,10,

    Hammer Curls
    35-10,10,10,10,

Ab wheel - 5,5, Stomach still a little sore

Oldster, my wife has been lifting for the past few years with me. She's pretty dedicated and strong for her size. It certainly has kept her in shape and shapely
