Big changes. Easter Sunday was my last day of work. Taking a little over a year off to finish school. Training has been ok but not dead consistent...mainly for upper body since I can tolerate a lot of volume and frequency there. Let's see if I can get things rolling again.

Bench: This workout should have been 270x3x10 but I've taken 6 days off benching instead of 2, so I had to regroup and just put in some work.
    w/u to 270x1
270x3@9-9.5(oh and this is not terrible since my PR is 275x3) so:
245x5x5 or 6, lost count. I figure this was good work regardless.

Chins: I'd like to start hitting these twice a week. I feel like once a week was not enough frequency to make good progress past a certain point.
    BWx8
    35x8x3

    Press:
145x5,5,5,5,8. 145 is not exceptionally heavy for me, but getting 8 reps on the 5th set after volume bench is a good sign that my press strength has not waned. I'd like to try and keep both press and bench moving consistently.

Pushups: 40 after not nearly enough rest.

I might have to drop to 194 for May 2nd but if so I will make it a point to eat for growth and strength in order to successfully reattempt 475 on squat in about 6 weeks. I have not tested bench or press lately so I might try to test bench and/or press at that time also. Along with 500x5 on deadlift....the last "milestone" before I pull 6 plates this year.

I've resumed Candito's 6 week program for squats for 2 cycles now, starting my third today. I failed to PR my squat after the 2nd cycle, although I think the main reason may have been my 5 lb or so weight loss. Anyway, I am considering repeating the first week, which is essentially a volume week, for 4 weeks before running out the last 4 weeks of the program and then testing. Maybe do a 4 week volume linear progression. My hope would be that my last PR attempt of 475 would go up easily and then make an attempt on 485.

Pushed this out one extra day. No time yesterday. Also should have benched Thursday and haven't yet.

    Squat:
    325x8x4@7-8 for last set.

3x5 deadlifts were scheduled today, but even though squats were not that hard from an RPE standpoint, they left me so drained that I could not continue. As in shaky, weak, ready to pass out drained.

If this continues I'll have to do something different with deadlifts.

So I wasn't able to deadlift as scheduled last workout. I squat every 4th day and deadlift every other squat workout. I have found that I need 3 full days off after squatting before I can squat comfortably again. I am scheduled to squat tomorrow but thought I would deadlift today and push the squat workout out a couple days if needed. I don't like skipping deadlifts. Weeeeeelllllll that didn't work out so well. Apparently, if I'm not recovered enough to squat after two days of recovery, deadlift isn't in the cards either:

    Deadlift:
    135x5
    225x3
315x broke the floor and bailed. Torso hurting. No way I could have produced enough force for a productive session. So tonight will be ibuprofen before bed as per normal lately the day before squatting, followed by a dose in the morning.

So my plan is to squat as scheduled tomorrow with some light pulls(chins or rows or whatever), then deadlift next squat session. If I have issues again I'll have to figure out what to do different. Guess I'll go bench.

Finals tomorrow, hoping to get back on track ASAP.

I was quite pleased with this result given the circumstances. Probably the last notable milestone before I hopefully hit 6 plates later this year. Fall classic 6pps or bust.
