    Hi everyone!

I'm Mahendra and this is my previous log: Mahendra's - you know what works but are too stupid to follow it - Intermediate log.

I decided to start a new log here given that I have aspirations to compete a couple of times this year. I entered my first powerlifting meet in an IPF affiliate, the Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU), on March 25th, 2017. I will be competing in the 66KG weight class.

I competed in the SS challenge in April 2016 at Crossfit Gantry in Long Island City, NY and went 8/9 (missing my 3rd press attempt). My lifts were:

    Squat - 365 (PR)
    Press - 155
    Deadlift - 430 (PR)
    BW: 179.5lbs
    Height: 5'5
    Bench (at home): 245lbs

SS Challenge Video: SS Challenge - April 24th, 2016

Starting June 11th, I went on a diet that lasted 202 days (~29 weeks) and I dropped 44lbs going from 178lbs --> 134lbs. Picture evidence. My current stats are as follows:

    Age: 33
    Height: 5'5
    Weight: 134.6lbs

    Current Lifts
    Squat: 300lbs (December 23rd)
    Comp Bench: 210lbs (e1RM)
    Deadlift: 390lbs (e1RM)
    Press: 140lbs (December 1st)

    Programming

    - I currently follow a 2 week cycle which is generally based off of tidbits I've picked up from Hanley
    - It's a 4 day upper/lower split, with an additional dumbbell accessory day, 2 conditioning sessions, and 1 steady state cardio session
    - As I've been training in a deficit for 29 weeks, I'm confident that I'll be able to make gainzZz on this program with MOAR food

    Diet

    - As I just finished my diet, I'm slowly titrating calories back up to maintenance over 3-4 weeks, and then will slowly bump it over over maintenance after that
    - I plan to follow cut & bulk cycles staying between 10-15% BF (using the navy method for reference)

    Goals for 2017

For the March 25th meet, I'd like to achieve at least the following:

    Squat: 320lbs
    Bench: 220lbs
    Deadlift: 405lbs
    Total: 945lbs

Before the end of 2017, I'd like to achieve at least a 1,000lbs total within the 66KG weight class.

    Other miscellaneous info

    - I have a home gym and train in the mornings before work
    - I work a desk job, so unfortunately I'm not very active outside of training
    - Prior to the SS Challenge last year, I went to see Alex Cibiri for form coaching, and will probably do so again this year

I think that's enough for an intro

Oh shit, Mahendra is getting serious! Luckily SBD has sponsored your first meet, and hooked you up with an extra 2.3 metric horsepower!

Also, best of luck with your new journey into competition.

You've got yourself a nice buffer for your weight class. No doubt that with extra food, your strength will come back. Good luck with the meet training!
