Hi Carson. The last couple of times i lifted, i ran into trouble with the judges. I never seem to fail getting lifts up, but OL refs demand quick, solid lockouts, and that is a problem with my long arms. Great for pulling, but terrible for overhead.
So i have been in isolation, working and working on my lockouts.
Squat snatchers seem to get away with anything on pressouts. I used to have a good, low squat snatch, but i lost my sense of balance after a holiday illness in the UK. Maybe i can work on that again, but i can't afford to drop weights where i train. So it would have to be light and accurate. Anyway i plan to lift in a contest in 2 months time.
Good luck with your coming event. Looks like you are ready for more PR's.

And so do you, Jerry. It's nice to follow the adventures of yourself, Gene, cheesepuff, bergstrm, Codger, and Carson - contemporaries who outlift me, but are struggling with Father Time, just like moi.

Snatch. because the judges really, really don't like my split snatches, and they never ruled out my squat snatches, i am putting them back in my schedule. can't go heavy tho, as they were always erratic, and i can't drop a bar here.

That you can even do a clean and jerk is amazing. I can't even come close to doing one. After I passed out trying I just gave up. Thanks for you encouragement about my upcoming competition. I look forward to seeing your results from your competition as well.

Hi Carson. I did some training in my late teens, but my apprenticeship resulted in living and working in the country most of my life, where there was little in the way of training facilities. I did about 20 years of warm weather competitive swimming, and the butterfly sure limbers the shoulders. Then there were 45 years of learning and teaching Tai Chi, so all in all my body is quite able, though not strong.

    Mon 9-9-2019.
Our air conditioner died - old age - and the replacement crew started early in the morning, which prevented me going to the gym.
As the day went on i did my "at Home" routine, mostly one set every half or three quarters of an hour.
    Total ---- Concentration Curl . (16.6 lb) 3 x 10.
    One arm triceps. (16.6) 3 x 10.

The small fitness gym where i train is populated by 95% ladies. All ages, and they train pretty hard on aerobic machines and exercises, and some weights. A babe came up and asked me what i do for aerobic training. I said, "Getting out of the car."

Those sqts are impressive, regardless of what anyone on this site say about 20 Rep sqts.

Shhh! friend Jerry, we've got to fly under the radar.

When this cycle ends at year's end, i'm thinking of doing 20's of deadlifts. Never done that before. Should be a whole new level of pain and terror.
