I'm delighted to see that you can still do the Olympic lifts of power clean and clean and press. I never could get the hang of them. Good for you.

Thank you Carson. But while you didn't start lifting until very late in life, i was doing athletic shit for many a year. When i started masters olympic lifting some years back, i had a pretty neat squat style. i was told no master dropped as low as i could. That all changed on an overseas holiday, when i got as sick as a dawg, and ever after lost my sense of balance in the squat snatch. So i do split lifts now, fun but nowhere near what i used to to be able to do. All efforts now are on rebuilding basic power.

God bless you. Thank you for you openness in sharing your struggles and success. Your journey is extraordinarily noble. Are you familiar with John Claassen, our 94 year old lifter? He did not begin until he was 89. He has had to make many accommodations to a body that doesn't work as well as it used to. Then there is the lockdown he must endure during this "pandemic".
He is limited to what little he can do inside his room at the retirement home but before that he actually competed in one event at one competition. Here's the film that was made about his life in December 2019. StoryPoint - Independence Village and StoryPoint presents John Claassen "Outlifting Life" movie trailer | Facebook I'll find the film but this is an introduction.
