Today ended my block of “fives”. This was to intentionally coincide with an extraordinarily busy work week. All lifting this week will be light (Ish). Best 5s were:
S: 275x5
B: 220x5
P: 130x5
DL: 425x5
I could get close to 1100 total if I had to.
Next block will be sets of three. Goal based on fives will look something like:
S: 315x3
B: 240x3
P: 140x3
DL: 475x3
Mid 1100 total?
I’ve learned a lot about training while sick in the last few months.Number one, by far, is eating enough. No duh in this forum but it is hyper critical. You are recovering from training as well as a hellish assault by your medical treatment. Your digestive system can be all jacked up too. That is very tough to dial in but must be done. Fuck COVID and Fauci.
Second, stress, depression, or maybe it’s exhaustion, or all of it. Amazingly caffeine seems to help a lot. A lot more than I knew and I’ve been a caffeine guy for 40 yrs. I have not asked my oncology team yet because I don’t want to know the answer. They have hinted about addarall (?) etc, but I’m not ready for chasing meds.
Third, training. Do it and shut the fuck up. But take care of eating, everything else is easier.

You're right about the eating. But it's easy to forget that, even in these forums. But to deal with that alone is tough, and you managed to deal with it on top of your treatment.
