    Recovery Day

    Squat (-25%)
    290 x 5 x 2
its been so dry and cold that everytime i squat it looks like im sacrificing an animal to Odin on my platform.

    Bench Press (-10%)
    260 x 5 x 3
    easy. slow and controlled.

    Chins
    bw x 5
    (+5lbs) x 5
    (+10lbs) x 5
probably need to be doing weighted chins bc 5s with bw are too easy but anytime i go up in reps my bicep tendon starts acting up. anything high reps hurts all over.

    notes
-considering ordering some Bison meat in bulk. cost 750 bucks but they deliver to your door, variety of cuts such as sirloin and chucks, ribs and lots of ground. i just cant stand how expensive it is but since ive started eating ground bison, it has now ruined beef for me. ranch up here in northern colorado will sell for about 18 bucks a pound, which is more than what i pay at sams club for their ground.

    1/10
    Intensity Day

    Squat
    430 x 5 (PR)
somehow this was easier than last week and five pounds heavier.

    Press
    190 x 5 (PR)
    225 x 1 (PR) fuck yeah
ohp plate milestone and longtime goal accomplished. now i can focus on bench since im like 6 weeks out from meet

    DL
    470 x 5 (PR)
so, i guess im a grinder. at some point im gonna have to make myself drop to triples then singles to taper off some fatigue before the meet

    notes
-i cant believe for 5 years (2019-2024) i didnt hit a single PR other than 1 DL single at a meet. now in the past couple months i cant even count. to be fair, they are all rep PRs which are not as important as 1RMs. so the real test will be next month at Colorado State Championships. nobody there cares about your 5RM.
-im a little sick right now with a head/chest cold and i cant breathe out of my nose which sucks at night bc i keep gasping for breath right when im about to fall asleep. sleep has sucked for the last 3 nights.

    Great work, Cole!

Time that taper well and you'll nail some fantastic PRs to the wall.

    starting strength coach development program
    1/13
    Volume Day

    Squat
    390 x 5 x 5
went well, felt easier than last week. really been focusing on loading the posterior rather than being so anterior aware, if that makes sense. 8 min rests

    Bench Press
    295 x 5 x 5
no problems here. 7 min rests

    notes
-still a little sick so this wasnt super pleasant. i was a little out of breath and dizzy but it didnt seem to affect strength at all. in fact, my body has been great as of late, no joint pain, low back awesome, and ive got like super elevated nuero muscular efficiency as of late for some reason.
