    Volume Day - Taper


    Squat
    405 x 3 x 4 sets
    easy. squats are feeling really good lately, which makes me happy. low back has been awesome knock on wood

    Bench Press
    310 x 3 x 4
    also easy, but i have a slight dull ache in the left delt that ive had before and if i ignore it turns into tendonitis. cant wait to get back to rotating bench and press after the meet




    notes
    -seems so easy compared to 5x5, i feel like im slacking.
    -session was good but literally after my first set of the day i recieved notice that i was gonna have to fire an employee today. made the call right after i finished the workout, my heart was pounding out of my chest. i hate firing people even when i know its warranted and neccessary. probably bc ive been fired before and know how it feels.

    thanks. goal is 1400 but that is pretty aggressive. id be happy with just a PR total

    Intensity Day - Taper


    Squat

    moved really well and you can see on vid i was raising my chest too early, so potentially could move even faster if i do a better job staying in my hips

    Bench Press
    340 x 1 x 3
    the speed was good, but my right delt is bothering me now. after mondays session it was my left delt, that went away quick but my right delt (bicep tendon or rotator cuff who knows) is bugging. feels imflamed and is clicking and popping and feels "stuck" or jammed. im too far in now to back off bc i dont want to de-train, especially as quick as bench tends fall off. this is why i like to alternate press with bench and only bench heavy every other week, like in 3 day vanilla TM.

    top single was a little slower than i would have liked, def not as fast as last weeks single. you can tell on vid i kind of kicked the bar forward a tad before initiating the pull and so i had a little extra moment arm at the beginning of the movement to overcome. this was not a max effort and at worst ill pull 501, at best im thinkning 540 at the meet in 2 weeks. i only have one more rep of deadlifts before the meet, a single at 495 next week. well see if this much taper for pulls works

    Try working on releasing your levator scapulae and rhomboid muscles, my bet is it will improve how your shoulders feel. Very good lifting, nice to see the taper working!

    thank you sir. i appreciate the advice. this exact thing happened to me spring 2022 only on my left shoulder. i thought it was from volume overuse but looking back i think it may have been intensity related, as this recent flare up most certainly is. in 2022 it took about 3 months of rehab to get back to decent weights and about 6 months to completely go away. this time around doesnt seem as severe but im not letting off the gas this close to platform so well see if i aggrevate it more...
