2/10
Volume Day - Taper
Squat
410 x 2 x 4 sets
really solid, ready to go
Bench Press
315 x 2 x 4
wasnt sure if i was gonna be able to do this with the shoulder. warming up with the bar was actually the worst, strangly. as the load went up the pain subsided. gonna monitor how it does the next couple days. i took 3 rounds of 600 mg IB prof over the weekend with ice packs every 4 hours. top weights moved all right, strength is there with some hesitancy and discomfort. i shouldnt complain bc ive had like 6 months of pain free, 100% healthy training. for a dude over 40 that aint bad.

Things are really looking good. I'm jealous of your bench. You're moving 3 plates with ease!

Intensity Day - Taper
Squat
455 x 1 x 3
-first single felt good, 2nd and 3rd were a little slower but no concern whatsoever about making them
Bench Press
345 x 1 x 3
-all 3 went easy, but my shoulder is making benching not fun anymore
DL
495 x 1
-last pull till the meet.
notes
-for strategy, im thinking i might lower the openers to something below these singles i hit today, just to ease into the meet and guarantee no bomb out. then i might hit these for 2nd attempts, and go for PR on 3rds. i know its pretty conservative, but it may make for a better 3rd if the previous 2 are less fatiguing maybe. i dont know quite yet but i do know that 500 for squats is probably not there.

Conservative isn’t a bad thing on openers.
From the video, it looks like you were feeling no pain on the bench - it moved quick! Best wishes at your meet - I hope you get some huge PRs!
Conservative is good, Cole.
You look ready, so stay healthy, then knock it out of the park!
