    I finally tried squatting yesterday. I knew better than to try anything heavy. My back and sciatica are still not ready for heavy.

    I am signed up for the USAPL Masters World Cup May 11th-12th in Memphis. I am not going for 2nd or 3rd place. Hopefully I can start training heavy by the end of January. First thing is do light weights until I get back in lifting shape.

    Today was my 2nd day of trying to do squats.I felt like a new Fawn trying to stand for the first time. Every time I tried to squat my legs shook badly and my sciatica made my right heel come off the floor! My right cheek would felt like it was winking and legs shaking. Never give up or surrender!

    Sciatica is still a problem but I am slowly getting my strength back. I have a little over 5 months to get back in shape and ready for the Masters World Cup. My legs didn't shake quiet as bad today as last time but still a little. If I can get back to 275 for reps by the end of the month I have a shot. Still don't know how my back will take heavy weight.

    Getting ready to take my 22 year old trainee to his first powerlifting meet. 50 miles away but have to get there 3 hours early for rack adjustments, weigh i, and equipment check. the meet starts at 3 pm CDT. Anyone who wants to watch it is being live streamed here: Twitch His name is Philippee in the 110kg class. Hopefully he will squat 608, bench 341, and deadlift 750. We shall see.

    My man Philippee in his first ever meet squatted 578, bench 341, and deadlift 744, took first in 110kg open class and won & 100 dollars. He tried 611 squat but he barely missed it. 8 for 9 lifts. He beat his class in deadlift by 144 pounds. Now we have 3 weeks to train for the State Championship. The whole place went nuts over his deadlift as he was the last to lift. Everyone was yelling at him incredible. I thought so too.

    Now to get my old ass back in lifting shape. The meet director at this meet is also the meet director in Memphis, TN for the USAPL Masters World Cup in May. Sandoval Strength System.

    Still trying to just get back into lifting shape. Weak and stil having sciatica problems. Hopefully by February I can get back to really training.

    WoW! I will never take my strength for granted again! I feel like I am back at January 2020 when I had the two massive widow maker heart attacks. My strength isn't coming back very fast or easy. Baby steps. Sciatica acting up again. My right hip stays very tight and my whole leg and foot will shake, then the scary part, they all go numb! I will keep at it though and will not give up.
