Doctor told me to go light and not very many so that is what I did. Back doesn't really hurt but can feel it in my lower back with the 275 and 315. I had been fishing all day and my back was already sore from sitting in the small jon boat. Maybe Monday I can have a real workout.

Oh No! My back went out on the 2nd rep at 275!

2@275 and oh does it hurt! I am taking off a week. If that doesn't do it, I might be done with heavy weights. 275 is very light for me but my back didn't think so.
It is not squats but I did leg press today. I can't let my knees go past 90 degrees because of my back.

I check every morning the USAPL Raw National Powerlifting Championship roster coming September in Memphis. This morning there was 655 signed up and now this evening there is 1,150 signed up. I lift Saturday the 16th of September. There is almost 400 lifting on Saturday. Going to be a really long day. Hopefully they will have 4 platforms running on Friday and Saturday. Close to 800 of the 1150 are lifting on Friday & Saturday. Fun day but very long day too!

I guess I will listen better to my doctor. I have been getting nauseous most of yesterday and all day today. Apparently L1-L5 are now bulging and pushing on a couple of nerves. I must have gone too deep on some of the leg presses. I am about to go even crazier since all I can do is either walk slowly or lie down. Can't eat much at one time because then I throw up. I am not sure now if I can even make the Nationals now. One step forward and 3 steps backwards. It gets harder each time to make a come back, but I will. I am so hard headed I wore a hard hat at work to protect other workers! Lol.
I found out yesterday I could do Bulgarian split squats with a kettle bell and dumbbell. Baby steps!

The only reason I have a kettle bell is about 5-6 years ago I was riding my bicycle and saw it laying in a ditch. I tied it to the bike and rode home with it. It is only 20 pounds so I used it and my wife's 15 pound dumbbell and held them in one hand. The next time I will use a 45 plate that has 3 holes around the edge. Maybe in a month or so I can progress to the bar and a little more weight. I need to pay more attention as on one rep I kinda leaned a little too far forward and my lower back bit me in the ass! They told me I could also do lunges but they hurt my bad knees.
If I tried to donate my old ragged body to science they would probably put it in the trash pile. The only thing that works worth a damn is my big mouth! I think I got my brain from abby, abby normal that is! I am so damn slow it takes a whole month to watch 60 minutes. That's my story and I will stick to it.

Holding a 25 pound plate that has 3 holes as handles and a 20 pound kettle bell. Hopefully by June I can start back doing regular squats and be ready for the USAPowerlifting Championship in September. If I can just do the squats and break the record I'll be happy. The bench and deadlift might just be token lifts until next years Championship. I can't do anything like a deadlift right now and trying to lie down on a bench or even a pushup hurts my back too much.

I learned from my last workout I was too close to the rear chair and it put too much pressure on my back. This time I moved away from the chair about 10 more inches and back feels fine. Awfully late for me but have been busy all day. Tuesday I will lift at my usual 10 am slot.
