No major damage. This little town though had over 200 utility poles snapped off at the ground.

I thought maybe I was getting well but after trying to cut grass and then bench I realized I should have taken the week off. I need to gain 11 pounds body weight before May 20th. My normal weight is 217 and I was down to 205. I am 211-212 now and want to be at least 222 or higher so I can lift in the 242 class in May. I would stay in my own class but with all the injuries and being sick several times it will be a lot easier to win the National 242 class as the squat in 220 is 40+ pounds higher, bench 30+, and deadlift is about 145 pounds higher for 220. Maybe next year I'll not get so sick and will compete again at 220 or 198.

My shoulder hurt so bad I shut it down. With my squat and deadlift and a 175 bench I will be able to set the new total record at Nationals for USAPL. I am thinking I will get 215-225 bench instead which is good with my terrible shoulder. Now to get well.

I went to do 185 and something major happened. The pain was so bad the bar came crashing down onto the safety bars. Doctor said that the muscle had caught onto a bone spur and the muscle is now like spaghetti. The ligament that attaches to something in my shoulder ripped away from the bone except for a small portion of it. Getting an injection in the shoulder next week. The doctor recommended that I not do bench for a couple of weeks after the injection. The doctor also said I will never be able to bench heavy again. I asked him if it would hold up for me to try 205-215 at the meet and he just said maybe. Get the injection and wait 10 days or so and then try benching singles and only once a week.

After the meet in May he said we could try stem cell therapy in my shoulder but not to expect a miracle. They might still have to do surgery to repair all the ligaments and hopefully the stem cell will allow the muscle to heal properly. As long as I can squat and deadlift and do anything on the bench I will keep on competing and training.

Nothing like trying to deadlift 40 minutes after stuffing myself with a peanut butter, cheese, and raisins sandwich and 16 oz of milk! I just about threw up on the 370 lift. Lol.
After hurting my shoulder earlier today I took Tylenol with hot showers and massage on my shoulder and forgot about doing the deadlift. Now I have to get back to at least 440 by May 20th which I don't think will be a problem. I was going to try 395 but thought better of it after almost throwing up. The strength is there just have to start doing deadlifts more often.

Thanks Skid. My shoulder has been a mess for 17 years now. I still believe I will set the squat, deadlift, and total National USAPL record. We will see when May 20th gets here!

I guess I over did it by digging up and moving my raised garden beds. Plus re-injured my lower back and bad knee.

365 I missed just as the bar was passing my knees my back went out. The 22 year old came to my home gym and squatted 485 atg and then pulled 650. He can pull more but I only have 4-45 plates, 2-35, 6-25, and 2-5 pound plates. I tried ordering 4 more 45's but they are out of stock again.

I realized today isn't my squat day, Tuesday is! Talked with my doctor and therapist and they told me to use 50%-60% and do reps to take the pressure off my back for a couple of weeks. So I went back out to the gym, garage.

225 doesn't feel like I am doing anything. For the next few months I will do reps one day a week and then heavy on the other day I do squats. Next week I will move up to 245 and do 3 sets of 8. I might see if I can work up to 3 sets of 8 with 315 and 1 set of 5 with 405. All 32 reps were atg. Well, atg for me anyway.

Why in the hell do people need to be in a power rack to do arm curls and shoulder shrugs, with oh my God 5 to 45 pounds? 15 power racks and 10 are filled with idiots doing bullshit. Monday my back went out while doing deadlifts and it limits me on the weight for my squats too.

The 22 year old kid I am helping to train did 4 sets of 3@405 and 4 sets of 3@410, then 2@365 Anderson squat from the very bottom, 3@315 Anderson squats.
He wanted to do deadlifts and other stuff but I shut him down. This kid has the potential to bench at least 450, squat 650-700, and deadlift over 800. I am trying to slow him down as he wants to do all the lifts heavy every workout. He usually does over head press and cleans it each time, squats, deadlifts, lift his 300 pound bag of sand to his shoulder, and lift his heavy stones 4-5 days a week. I am now getting him to do squats twice a week, bench twice a week, and deadlift once a week. No stones and over head press only once a week.
