You could, but I prefer power cleans as a warm up to the deadlift. After an all out set of deads I'm not sure that I could generate much explosion or even hold my form together all that well.

Hi Rob,
When running the program that Andy laid out in the first case study, I power cleaned after heavy squats earlier in the week. On my deadlift day, I did light squats for 2-3 sets of five as a warm-up prior to pulling. I found this combination to work very well for me.
Thanks John and Andy. I gave cleans a shot as part of the warmup, and I like the time efficiency aspect. What kind of volume would you recommend for the cleans done this way? I just worked up to a heavy triple.
I'm hoping to get away with just the one squat workout (again, for time efficiency), otherwise I'll try a light day before/after deadlifts as John suggests.
