    Default Vacation programming

    • starting strength seminar jume 2024
    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    49-year old, doing SS for 2 months. I will be out of town for 8 days. Will have gym access, but will be jet lagged and undoubtedly tired, stressed and eating poorly. So no new record I'm sure!
    In order not to detrain, what should I do if my gym has barbells?
    What if it only has dumbbells?

    Barbells, try to do the workouts as best you can. If you stay within about 5-10% of your normal weights you will be fine when you come back. Or, keep weights the same, but only ask yourself to do like 3x3.

    If you only have DBs just do the movements as best you can. DB Squats, DB Bench, DB Press, etc. Just do 3-4 x 8-10. May lose a little bit of strength, but not as much as not training at all.
