    Default TM for OHP

    Hi Andy.
    Male 43, 5-10, 260lb.
SQ 225x5x3, Press 155x5x3, Deadlift 290x5. I do not bench.

My press is stalled, going from 150 to 154.5 took a week, but the next 0.5lb to reach155 took another week. Squat and deadlift are still progressing on LP, so want to change only the press to TM.

I intend to run the vanilla TM for the next 16 weeks, but not sure what weekly jumps to aim for. Is 2.5lb a week a good goal? Less? More?

So the plan for the coming week is:
    Monday
    Squats LP
    Press volume 90% of 155 = 140x5x5
    Deadlift LP

    Wednesday
    Squats LP
    Press light day 80% of v day's 140 = 110x5x3
Negative chinz, add at least one currently at ~3x8
BB rows (to help drive chinz) 135x3x8

    Friday
    Squat LP
    Press intensity 155x5
Shouder accessory work, side and front raises. (These seem to calm my shoulder down)

I may move deadlifts to Wed or Fri if volume takes too much time and move accessory to Mon.

Log is here for reference only: Big Marks quest for chinz.

    Thank you.

I'd start Benching on Wednesday if possible. If Regular Bench hurts, try narrowing your grip some. The extra loading on the delts/triceps from the heavier Bench pressing is probably necessary to speed up your Press gains.

I'd also forget about trying to 5x5 and then 5RM for 16 weeks.

You aren't going to get a run of progress that long strictly on 5s.

You need to get heavier on at least one of those days. Either change volume day to like 6x3 or change intensity day to doubles/triples/singles.
