    Hello,

I would like to add tricep extensions to the basic Texas Method that I am doing.

Would I do these on a bench volume day or intensity day?

I was thinking about starting off with 2-3 sets of 10, would that mess anything up as long as recovery is good?

Also why are pull ups not included in the basic Texas method?

    Thanks

You can do Pull Ups on the Texas Method.

A few sets of LTEs are fine. Do them Friday

I've been doing assistance on Monday (VD) in my 3 day TM program. Are you saying it is better to do assistance on Friday (ID)?

Grand scheme of things....doesn't really matter. Int days are usually shorter so the thought is that there is more time/energy available for assistance work. In my experience a hard 5x5 Squat and Press/Bench plus maybe a pulling exercise leaves me pretty well smoked.

Plus, doing tricep work Monday can bleed over into Wednesdays Press/Bench workout. Doing triceps Friday you get 2 days to get the soreness/fatigue out

Why are you adding triceps extensions to the Texas Method?

Is doing 5x5 press/bench presses insufficient elbow extensor development for you?

Thank you Andy for the great response. Real quick, what day would you recommend to do the pull ups?
