Questions regarding strength and mass after 40
Hi Andy,
I am just finishing garage gym warrior and have really enjoyed it , I recommend that any others reading this give it a shot sometime. When it's finished I intend to get onto SMA40 soon and have a few questions.
1. For starting weights can I pick 90% of my one rep max and use that for the heavy singles week then calculate the 3's and 5's based on that? Or is that too heavy too soon?
2. Can I run the bench and press evenly and program the bench just like how you have the press programed?
3. This is a little embarrassing , but I don't know how to progress with the assistance work weights.

1. Yeah, 90% for singles isn't that hard so it's a good starting point. Then go 85% for triples and 80% for 5s. Some have done 95% for 1s, 85% for 3s, and 75% for 5s if you want a little more spread.

3. When you get a given weight for the rx'd set/rep scheme add a small amount of weight next time
