    Hello,
I am having an issue with my grip failing due to DL.

    Age:32
    Weight:250lbs
    Height: 6’3

    Squat: 295x5x3
    Bench: 215x5x3
    Press: 155x5x3
    DL: 360x5 <<last workout

I was going for 370x5, which I’ve pulled before. I pulled one rep relatively easy, then my grip failed, I tried dropping to 365 to finish the workout and I could keep my hands on the bar.

I had dropped down to 315x5 after about a 6 week break and have worked my way back up to 360.

My sleep was disturbed the last couple nights, but I haven’t DL since Wednesday last week. my others lifts were fine today. I worked them Saturday. I typically sleep 7-8 hours well.

I eat about 200 grams of protein a day and aim for 3500-4000 calories. Despite this I have not gained a half a pound over the last two weeks.

Any help to get past this plateau would be great. Thank you for your time.

Yes, I am quite liberal with the amount.

Are your fingers short? Are you using a hook or an alternate grip? Are you doing a bunch of curls or weighted chins?

I have long fingers. I have played with a hook grip, but it’s not my favorite. I am not doing curls or weighed chins.

Your alternate grip is failing? Do you have short arms?

I have not tried an alternate grip. Only standard and hook grip. I have long arms, long legs, shorter torso for my height.
