    Default Training during residency - 6 or even 7 training sessions per week?

    I graduated from medical school a month ago and have started my medical residency early. I'll be regularly clocking in anywhere between 70-90 hrs/week (+ extra time for travelling). When the gyms reopen, I could definitely see myself only getting 15-30 mins to train per session (unless I have a day off).

    Since I've lost a lot of progress due to COVID, I'm aiming to do an LP for ~1 month then return to a 4 day TM.

    Is it feasible to split my training up so that I do the same total workload per week but break it up over multiple training sessions since I'll have very limited time for each training session?

    For example (for an LP):
    Monday -> 3x5 squats and 1x5 bench
    Tuesday -> 2x5 bench and 1x5 deadlift
    Wednesday -> 3x5 squats
    Thursday -> 3x5 OHP and 3 sets of chins
    Friday -> 3x5 squats
    Saturday -> 3x5 bench and 1x5 deadlift
    Sunday -> rest

    Or some variation of the above

    Thanks

    15 min ? That is a warmup. Doing proper 3x5 squats take at least 35-40 min.

    I'm in similar situation so I can give you 2 ideas that worked for me:

    1. You do full-time workout whenever you can. 1 times a week? OK. 3 or 4 times a week ? Still good. You dont care when it is done and how much time seperate workouts. Just do it when you have time. This works good with 4 day split -
    1. Squat volume + press/bench intensity
    2. Deadlift intensity + press/bench volume
    3. Sq int. + Pr/bp volume
    4. Dl volume + pr/bp intensity.

    This way you can handle 2 sessions in a row. Even 3 if the third is light pulling and 5rm press - no problem, I did this.

    2. When you have time for full-time workout you do as much volume as you can. So basicly monday workout of Texas Method. When you dont have time you do only one lift as intensity day. Lets say you have friday off so:

    Fri - 5x5 squat and press + deadlift
    Mon - press/bench intensity + chins
    Tu- squat intensity
    Wed- press/bench intensity + chins

    Hope this helps.

    I think that your split is fine and if you superset the two lifts you should be out in ~45 minutes.
