Hello,
Could you please elaborate on why chinups are recommended to be at 3x10+ before adding weight to a workout of 3x5. Considering the 3x5 ”rule” provided in SS and PP.
My first set usually end up at 10 reps, and 2nd and 3d set is at 5-7 reps. Wouldnt it be better to add weight so that I am at 3x5 and add weight every workout, LP, instead of chasing 3x10?

Yes and the only explanation I can derive is the slight extra hypertrophy gains on le biceps requested by many of us novices.
I am going to add weight anyhow to 3x5 and then do LP on that movement as well. Ha.

If your max reps per set and total reps per workout aren't increasing over time then setting a rep total vs a finite sets x reps prescription could be useful.
Thank you Robert for your time and replies. Will try it out and revert back.
