This. I tried today to increase my carb intake and I felt so much better. I both slept better (longer) today and ate more carbs, thus had more energy at the gym. I will try to keep them high as long as I can, but should I keep them high even on rest days?

Only if you want to recover on rest days.

Keep them high on all days, you don’t like carbs? Don’t worry about the weight gain, I train martial arts too and compete in grappling, it’s not gonna negativity affect your performance. If weight gain is a worry to you they say to lower your fat intake before carbs in the nutrition forum.

Yes. For reasons Rip described. Limit simple carbs on those days though.

I have failed on squats 265 lbs for 3x5 two times in a row now. I deloaded earlier and now worked my way up and failed today as well. Always 2x5 and 1x4, failing on the last rep. Resting about 10 minutes. I feel like I need to perhaps change the programming in any way.

Are you still squatting three times per week?

Yes. I am thinking about starting the Texas Method for quicker gains.

Why don't you try squatting heavy twice per week first?

Do you mean the Advanced Novice Phase? Phase 4? I am considering that. Should I try that this next upcoming week?

    starting strength coach development program
Yes do it. I would program your deadlift similar to TM or HLM though.
