Having done 5x5s and then Texas Method for the past couple of years I feel like I need to put specific emphasis right now on either Squats or Deads one at a time - when I try to move them both up simultaneously they don't seem to move but just had a ton of success building my squat while I was not deadlifting heavy. Now I'd like to work the deadlift for a while, but I'm not sure what to do with my squats so that I keep as much of the gains made as possible. I'd call myself a beginning intermediate lifter - 455 squat, 280 bench and 550 Dead PR (although today I suspect the deadlift is almost 100lbs less) at 195 bw. Thanks!
Specific emphasis on a particular lift is not uncommon the more advanced you are, but it shouldn't have to be such that you are hardly squatting so that you can build your DL. We likely need more details about what your training was like and what exactly was stalling.
