    Default BBP 4-Day novice??

Working on getting back on track after a lay off. In the BBP book they have a 4 day model:

    Monday Squat and Press
Tuesday Deadlift and Lat pulls (I plan on chins)
    Thursday Squat and Bench
Friday Deadlift and be rows ( I'm doing barbell rows)

Is there really any benefit doing it this way over the traditional 3 days a week??

    Thanks

Yes, this split has you doing only 2 main lifts a day instead of 3, so 1) the sessions are shorter and 2) the overall stress generated each day is less which can help with recovery for older folks.

Good to know. Might switch to this way and see how it works.

    Thanks for the reply.
