Age 68 yrs
NLP for 10 months transition to HLM with two days rest between workouts.
At this point I've been running out the HLM as described in the Barbell Prescription and lifts keep moving up but only with the use of fractional plates (1-3 lb jumps).
Dilemma is the Heavy day is getting real long due to rest between sets.
My question is:
Do all lifts have to be on the same HLM schedule?
Could the Heavy Day be squats and deadlift but the bench/press be the Light day?
Or could all three lifts be staggered like this?
Monday workout:
Heavy: Squat
Light: Bench
Medium: Deadlift
Thursday workout:
Light Squat
Medium Bench
Heavy Deadlift
Sunday workout:
Medium squat
Heavy bench
Light deadlift
Or is it better that all the stress of Heavy lifting be focused on one day?
I tried searching for this but couldn't find anything so it's probably a bad idea.
