    Hi all,

I've been thinking of ways to extend longevity on the 4-day Texas Method when weekly 5RMs and 5/2x3/2x2/5x1 become stale.
I'm a big fan of Andy Baker's 8/5/2, and was wondering if anyone's tried cycling a wider rep range like this on their Intensity Day?

    i.e.

    Week 1
Intensity Day - set new 8RM
    Week 2
Intensity Day - set new 5RM
    Week 3
Intensity Day - set new 2RM

While doing something like 5x5 @ 80-90% 5RM on Volume Day each week.

Also, has anyone tried rotating exercise variations on their Intensity Day?

    i.e.

    Week 1
Intensity Day - set new squat 5RM
    Week 2
Intensity Day - set new 3s pause squat 5RM

Could one of/both of these approaches be a feasible way of maintaining progress on TM?

8s are really not in the "intensity" rep range.
